It really seemed like today I was treated to a special training session, one of those that if you enjoy working dogs it just has to make you smile.  At Spitzenhund kennels when you walk out on the training facility with Russ, first of all you know you are going learn.  Being blessed to have dogs on site such as SchH3 Mailo aus der Eichendorffsiedlung, SchH3 Bomber vom Wolfsheim, two time FH tracking champion Jeron Stan Hrad, SG3 AD VPG3 KKL1 Tess von der Linzer, etc., it is difficult not to enjoy yourself.  But today was a little special as I stood in blind six and watched the kennels newest addition, Johnny-vom-vogelsberger-sudhang make his way around blinds one through five before heading my way and squaring in front of me in six!  His work was impressive no doubt considering his recent long journey to S.W.Missouri. As I waited, I was a bit taken in by something that made this dog stand out to me even when spoiled by a kennel of hard working dogs.  He just had a special something that made it look so easy for him.  I guess it was probably just a combination of that sleek black coat and beautiful conformation as this extremely well proprtioned animal made his way quickly and efficiently to blind six that had to make me smile.  Then after a few escapes I realized too that Johnny-vom-vogelsberger-sudhang is more than just a beautiful black shepherd.  I certainly hope I am right in thinking he has the potential to put some high numbers on his pages in the future.
What a great day!!!!

I'm glad you had a great day at training. sounds like a good one. Guess you didn't have someone get a good picture or two of you to share. Thanks for sharing your enjoyable day.

This is a video of the dog "Johnny" taken earlier this year. Not sure the Handler here shows the dog in its best light;

Nope, not the best example of work I've seen. I'd like to see more videos of him to see a different example of his OB and bitework.
