Does anybody actually know where  the dog is?

by joanro on 01 January 2013 - 17:01

Hans, he is with Melody Stemple in St Louis, Missouri as far as I know.
If you go to my website and look at "public notice" page, it give some insight.

From what I can fathom he already had elbow surgery, and this is now a spine problem, although with a few videos around some of those may have been before the elbow surgery. She says xrays havee been taken of the spine for her vet os say that he has the spine of a 14 yr old, but who knows?  She could post the xrays on here for some feedback from some very knowledgeable people in the vetrrinary field, and just those who have dogs with similar spinal conditions. I have heard no 'specific' condition suspected, which is why I wonder why hereditary defect is being very clearly stated. I would like to ask the OP what hereditary condition it is?

Abby, if you can figure this woman out, you should receive a Nobel Prize. If you read the first email I received from her on my website under "public notice", the dog at that time was approximately twenty six months old. Who knows what has happened to the dog in the videos. She is now living in an apartment in St Louis, Mo. Maybe he was hit by a car. Maybe he has been given LSD, or clubbed in the head. But one thing is clear, during the two years since that first email, the dog went from PP training to what is depicted in the video posted one year ago, up to the latest posted video. Probably only the op will ever know the truth.

Oh my I would have bitten your arm off for one of the pups from the breeding you offered her!

Crazy. I do hope this poor boy gets out of there. You must feel sick about this, I would drive myself crazy worrying about him, this is why I could never breed. Not because I wouldnt like to, but because I would be worried about what might happen to the pups in the future. This is a prime example, and makes me glad I decided not to.

To OP, while this thread clearly didnt go how you wanted it to, it would show some integrity if you came back and answered some of the questions that have been raised solely out of concern for the your boy. You need to understand that with ED and HD the best any breeder can do is use dogs that have good hips and elbows, and those behind them in the pedigree too. Even then, some will develop the condition, it is unfortunate, but does not indicate a bad breeder. Your energies would be better directed getting timely help for your dog, and educating yourself about these conditions, and what makes a good breeder and a good OWNER.

I don't know either buyer or breeder, so I can't make a call either way, but  I did check out the OP's FB page. It appears that she has an appointment to see a specialist and have an MRI done on the dog, but couldn't get an appointment right away. She is very upset and frustrated about having to wait, but in the meantime she's got the dog in pain meds. Call me gullible or naive, but in most ways it appears she really cares deeply about her dog and is doing her best to get the dog help. I still am upset by the prong collar...

Starrchar,, she posted on her FB on November 19th that she had an appointment the next week with a 'specialist' as the dog was diagnosed with a spinal ' injury'. That was six weeks ago.

Is there a video where she trains a dog pp as stated above? I will say one more time. This dog on videos is not displaying behavior consistent with bad elbow or spine. Dog act as if he has balance center problem which could be caused by drugs of injury to the head. If this person claims bad elbows and spine I would like to see the x rays. And even then if the x rays would show bad elbows I would not accept the behavior of the dog on the video as caused by bad elbows. Such corelation is extremely unlikely to say the least. However it is telling that she never posted anywhere x ray picture of the dog's elbows.

Hans, she made a claim on Rip off, that she has OFFA evaluation of the dog's elbows, and that as soon as she could scan them, she'd 'Post them on the internet'. That was November 29, 2012.
I did a search on OFA, and it always comes up 'no results found'.
The dog's name, which she has never posted, is Durham vom Ron.
