GSD4dogs

by GSD4dogs on 23 October 2012 - 00:10

Those who know me, know I don't quit easily and normally I believe in working from within. But I also need to look in the mirror and be comfortable with the person I see. Today, I do not like who I am. I lost my temper yesterday and while I stood for what I believe is right, the way I did it was not right. I can give excuses and reason but at the end of the day what I did was still wrong. I spent the last few months walking a tight rope, wanting to speak out but believing that doing that would only hurt the NASS. So, instead of being true to myself, I allowed myself to be bullied and abused and pushed to the point where I need to say enough. I am done. I will find other ways to work for and with the breed I love.

Here we go again.  Dedicated, hard-working, honest people.   Devoted to our breed.  Too polite to endanger an event they hold dear, at great personal cost to themselves.  I'm so sorry Irene.

Irene quitting is easy, staying and fighting for change is what needs to be done.Don't give up! If a 16 year old can stand up and fight so should everyone else!

@ top dog... A 16 year old? Are you speaking of Tessa? She is 20, I believe.

HAH you too eh!  me too, i wrote the board a few letters regarding the NASS sieger show disaster.

by Beaugsd on 24 October 2012 - 01:10

She is 16 and good for her!
I am sorry Irene quit as I too feel the organization will eventually implode with all the nasty things happening.
Members will finally just say 'screw it' and go to the USa organization. What are we really fighting for? We can still
have our shows and trials. The SV judges will come as they are treated like royality here. So if things get to the
point where we cannot bear it. We will all walk away.

Anyone care to fill in the details as to what happened? I'm confused.

I could be mistaken, but I think the reference was to the 16 year old girl that was recently shot in Pakistan standing up to the Taliban.
