could someone tell me if this pedigree is for a working or show line? This is my pups grandfathers pedigree, and was wondering.  thanks, jimhttp://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=448991&p=6-generation-pedigree

Jim
That pedigree is Czech working lines,
and farther back are some W German
working lines as well.

Rene Anrebi was a really nice dog btw,
we got to see him "in the flesh" a few times.

Working, Czech. There are a few showline dogs starting in the 5th gen (Weinerau).

Ditto. And related to one of mine, who is an AWESOME dog. Can't find anything this dog can't do. He's done a bit of everything...SchH, FR, catch dog, herding dog, guard...truly a jack of all trades and true working dog.

A
s an aside, to clarify on what BoCRon said...back in those days, showlines weren't what they are now...those Wienerau dogs were kind of just GSDs back then. Don't think that 5th gen. Wienerau renders that a sl ped.

thanks all. good to know this sounds like a decent pedigree. i am taking her today to a training facility for an evaluation to see what she may be capable of as far as training goes.

Jim, it would be nice to see her pedigree, not just her grandfather's. Her parents are going to be a much stronger indicator of what she may be capable of (well, SHE is the most important indicator, actually) than her grandfather. Her grandfather's pedigree is only 1/4 of her.

Malinda reminded me- Apollo even had narc training and was fantastic! I swear...there is nothing he hasn't done that he didn't do very well. He is the epitome of a good GSD in my eyes.

I did not meet Rene but have heard from several that he was a great dog. I would not give sole credit to him, as I have Apollo's "uncle" here as well and they are very similar and he does not go back to Rene, but he is not nearly as easy to handle as Apollo. I do think the cross that produced Apollo and Nyra was excellent!

Please post back w/her ped if you have it and good luck with your girl!

That's American. German lines way back, but to classify it quickly, the dam side is American. If you have the parents' names, you can register them here and then your girl's pedigree will be on here. It's easy.
