Once again i wake up then after a bit look on the forum only to see Why is it that every decent thread gets locked that is the norm on this Forum lately. But just to add my bit which i intended to post on ,
I am not bothered about giving my full name on any forum , i only put the 1 behind my real name Steve so i am not confused with another of the same name, anyway my full name address and phone number has been on hear at least twice, and many on the board have my full name and address
I cannot see why anyone is against doing it if needed and i only post under one name , nothing to hide or bother about.
Those Guys who have to do that are etheir frightened people or have something to hide.
Finally i was going to mention the old Dog in German Shepherd s (Mod) Avatar
He looks to be a fine old Fellow, A fine looking Dog

Many people feel as you do Steve. Thats why I suggested it in the first place..... I also feel that way, and many many other people expressed that also in emails or PMs to me....But we all know that will never happen...
Seems this was shot down today before being presented to Oli again....Who makes the decisions? The site owner, or the admin.....???

Real names via credit card registration is not going to happen. It doesn't on other hobby messageboards, and there is no particular reason for it to happen here now that the board is moderated and the most egregious poo-flinging is fairly quickly removed.
We the members are the ones that will either make or break this forum, but yet we have no say so in the way it is to function, or the lack of functioning...
Here's another suggestion..Why not let the members vote on issues such as this.....

This is a private messageboard owned by an individual who makes policy as he desires. Despite the issue being raised several times, beginning years before you came along, he has never seen fit to require real names.
As far as you receiving PMs from "many many other people" asking for all posters to use real names, you should tell these people to instead PM the moderators with their thoughts, which can then be passed along to Oli. As for your implied threat against the messageboard, that has been duly noted also.
And Steve1, as for Mobjack's thread on TOS suggestions being locked, it was locked because of poor conduct. Feel free to start another thread if you would like, and hopefully that one will last more than a day before it deteriorates. The locked thread started out well, but by the end it was no longer constructive. This messageboard is no longer a playground for people to play endless passive-aggressive games.
