Anyone have experience buying pups from this kennel, or have you been in contact with some of their adults? If so, what are they like?

by BMartin on 10 April 2012 - 18:04

While I haven't PERSONALLY met Shefan or Christine Shaub, my mentor/friend has become quite good friends with them.  He has nothing but good things to say about them as both people and breeders.  I have the priviledge to work with 2 pups from Staatsmacht, and I do mean PRIVILEDGE.  Both are females out of Terror von der Staatsmacht.  Clear headed and very drivey dogs that I expect great things from in the future.  I think if you look up more info on Staatsmacht, you will find nothing but positive feedback about the ability of the dogs.  Stefan's dedication to breeding nothing but top quality dogs is evident by the number of dogs from his kennel that have competed on the international level.

As a side-note, I also worked a female out of Leon von der Staatsmacht at our trial last week.  She is a very, very nice dog as well.  She will be competing at the WDA Nationals this weekend actually.  She was not bred by Staatsmacht though, she is a Karthago dog.

My decoy at my club knows Stfan and has nothing but the best things to say about him and his kennel.  When I was looking for a pup he referred me to thema nd told me to seriously consider them.  People who I have heard say they love their pups.  Their stud dog Harro is out in AZ now.

would you consider them to be somewhat similar to tiekerhook? say, do they seem to have the need to go on all day long? They caught my attention via Leon vd Staatmacht some time back, didn't know they where now in the sates which for me is a big plus, since importing fees in my country make it cheaper to physically go pick-up the dog.

I own Bo von der Staatsmacht. She will be 2 in May. Her sire is Harro von der Staatsmacht. Harro's sire is a repeat breeding of Nick vom Heiligenbosch. Bos' dam is Lena von der Staatsmacht...(Leon/Lary). Asko von der Lutter progeny. She is in Louisiana. I believe Lux is in Phila. I bought Bo at 5 months. She is linebred 2/3 on Orla von der Schiffslache. She comes from a very impressive mother line. While Bo can be active...she can settle down. Very well put together dog...agile...Christine and Stefan were great to deal with.

I have met both Stefan & Christine. They are both very nice and helpful people. I also own one of there pups, i could not ask for more out of a pup at this young age. There dog's are very strong Working line German Shepherds. Stefan is both a World Class Helper & Breeder. The fact that his kennel produces World Class dogs, and that this has been accomplished in a relatively short time as a breeder is NO ACCIDENT!!. His dog Terror von der Staatsmacht is in a class of his own and has to be seen to be believed. I would suggest you contact Stefan, he will not BS you in anyway.

My pup is out of Irmhild von der Staatsmacht (daughter of the kennel's foundation female Orla), a female that is producing some very nice progeny... my pup is phenomenal and I am really looking forward to getting his name out there. I love the lines, producing some nice dogs right now. Their reputation is great, too.

i, too, have met stephan & christine and have nothing but good to say about their dogs and breeding program.  stephan breeds dogs the way they should be bred.......with emphasis on the dam lines......dams being the core of his kennel.  he also breeds with the intent to produce real working dogs.  along the way, you will also produce some sport dogs and he does, but he mainly looks for real working ability; the kind of stuff that cannot be trained in, but is inherent to the dogs character.
@bmartin:  he does not b.s. anyone.  he is about as straight forward and honest as they come, blatantly honest, blunt & to the point.  he certainly does not have to try to sell his dogs.  they sell themselves.
