troublenix .. yes .. most people that train ... not all .. most .. have enough knowledge to prevent accidents , including bites...[ although not what was exhibited by the video ] ...  as the thread relates to : the meaning of watching your dog ..:  our dogs are more aware of us than we are of themand generally do what we have taught .  !! watching your dog also entails keeping THEM  safe ,   in life INNOCENT PEOPLE  safe , as well as keeping  decoys safe  .. As i described in the last post .. the handling/ firing  of a gun with one hand and  with a dog pulling on a leash held by the other  hand is far from a safety .. one might just watch that dog get shot in the head , or perhaps the handler resulting in getting hurt ! Not to 'ad nauseum' state,  someone watching that video ,  trying to learn , then atttempt to mimic the actions can and will be disastrous ..  and i didn't make known :  .. if you are going to shoot a gun not only should the dog be calm and collected .. you should place the dog down  between your legs , lower yourself to the ground to diminish both you and your dogs as targets while firing above the dogshead to prevent percussion feedback  and shooting your dog in the head . THAT is " WATCHING  YOUR DOG "!! ..  you mean to say : standing shooting a gun with a dog pulling is not going to throw your firing off-line /of target ..not to mention the possiblity that  you will get hurt with returned fire !! if you are going to present something to world  and you concearn yourself about safety and watching your dog .. then IMO present at least present a semblence of safety for you, all people possibly involved  and the dog !! THAT is watching your dog [ and yourself  / other people] !! for the record .. not my concearn how or why  others train .. BUT .. i do care about how others see and learn especially if they come to this site and have no or limitted experience !! Maybe it's more important that we start by watvhing ourselves and what we tach our dogs before we undertake even having the need to watch our dogs ?? maybe .. PS trouble nix .. that is great people come to the club to learn .. but have you seen some folks learn by watching protection and trying at home .. we had a problem with this in our area of town .. BTW they trained pit bulls to attack when law enforcement made a bust .. YOU don't think pewople watch these sites for info ??  THINK again !!
