I have 5,5 - 4 Line-breeding (5 generations) in VA1 Jeck vom Noricum, SchH3, FH, Kkl 1
in my stud, Drake vom Fleischerhein [from Fleischerheim] (apologies for Drake's photo (out of coat), but isn't he magnificent!
https://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=594843-drake-vom-fleischerhein
Drake is the sire of my "W" Litter and my "X" Litter born 2012 and 2013 respectively.

Drake (and his young progeny) exemplify magnificent temperament, trainability, supreme loyalty, and protective herding of small livestock such as chickens and rabbits, lovingly protecting them open field out in meadows, with amazing working drives........ as well as excellent conformation, structure, from head to toe and tail, his pups are glorious! with rich pigmentation, amazingly correct ears and tight feet, just beautifully "put-together". You can see his babies in my facebook page: Von Sonnenberg German Shepherd Dogs, as well as here, in Pedigree Database, by searching for dogs with my kennel surname, Von Sonnenberg.

Big, strong, compact, elongated, typey, very good expression and building construction, building very good relationship. Very good angulation of front and rear. Particularly good length and position of the upper arm, very good location of the shoulder blade. High withers, very good topline, normal length and position of croup. Forechest and depth of chest are still in the correct proportion, correct front. Course a lot of ground, coming from a fixed backrest. Being safe, hardness, courage and fighting drive pronounced; from. VI. For females to improve the forehand.

I am fortunate to have a Jeck granddaughter born in America from DAM Xeni von Maria Buch. Xeni is one of the most beautiful females that I have ever seen. Perfect temperment, very social and high drive. She produced beautiful babies...carrying on her famous father's great looks. The Jeck lines are something special!!! My female loves to work and is a real pleasure to own.

I have a pup (now 2 years old) from Jeck's bloodline and he's just as gorgeous as Jeck. He has a fantastic disposition and is beautifully behaved although I haven't shown him. He's extremely intelligent and great at protection work. He was shown in Germany before I imported him to the states. Jeck's genes live on in him. Look him up at Briso vom Astral.

Truly a superb GSD. Passes all his virtues to his progeny. No wonder he is still linebred on. Hats off to Mr. Walter Martin who predicted Jeck will be a foundation of fture GSD's.

which is lowest allowed! So how can it be good!

But he's among the great dogs!

Jeck happens to be my GSDs great grandfather. Although Tucker is used for family protection and friendship he has many of Jecks great traits and looks. In comparison Tucker mirrors Jecks looks and temperament. Its good to know that Tucker comes from good lines.

I also agree that Fresh/frozen semen should be allowed in Germany. Some of us just can't afford to keep shipping our bitches from left to right to Germany, it cost way too much and when it comes to the total that it cost like if you were buying an import. I do have ever think that ALL Studs in Germany should be DNA’d so that when something goes wrong that they can find the correct sire.

As what Schaeferhund said “Why is it that everybody "needs" German imports? I don't mean it to sound bad, but why can't the countries breed their own beautiful Shepherds? It's weird. It's not too much like that with other breeds...”
We don’t ALL need German imports but some of us think that a certain dog from Germany will help them with their breeding program.

I agree with nummer ein.SV should allow frozen semen of all top sires. They can always make a rule that the frozen semen of dogs which are still alive will only be used (unlike in other breeds where the frozen semen of dogs which died long ago are also used). This will in no way narrow the gene pool because the breeder can always follow the breeding guideline of that dog.
And Mr.Schaeferhund someday other countries will also produce GSDs at par with Germany.USA has already done it in breeds like Dobe and Boxer.Though these breeds originate in Germany,US has developed them and most of the countries now follow the US standard in these breeds. It might be the same in GSDs too.Countries like Australia produce top class animals particularly bitches and a breeder from Taiwan produced a VA bitch so let's keep our fingers crossed for that day when a dog bred in an Asian country will be the VA1.Till then we've to import to have more gene pool.

Well..Schaeferhund, Agree 100% with you, this is the very point Iv been stressing on for long time now....In India we have quiet a few good dogs bred from Jeck and Zamb lines and these dogs are not ordinary either....I guess like the saying goes the Grass is Greener on the otherside of the Fence...but to be Honest I guess at times I too getinto this attitude....I guess its Human nature then...
At least in India I know a hellava lot of people with TOP Class Bred in India dogs and still the ywant an Import...frankly its only for the Ego....and honestly again, I have this temtation many times a week.....SO I guess...this seesaw of emotions will continue for a Long long time!!

but still, In countries like India, most of us dont have the fortune of using any of the top GSD like the Germans...and not everyone can send his/her bitch to Germany to breed to a top VA dog!:( !!! I personally feel that the SV should allow frozen semen of all the top producing dogs so that people in far off places can also breed good dogs and not be dependent on a few importers to breed their bitches!

"I don't know why SV doesn't permit AI with fresh/frozen semen as that's a common practice in most breeds and since DNA test can be done, what's the harm?"

I my opinion they do it because it would narrow gene pool even more. And it is already narrow enough.

I don't know why SV doesn't permit AI with fresh/frozen semen as that's a common practice in most breeds and since DNA test can be done, what's the harm?It also helps breeders from other countries to use a particular dog without sending the bitch in a long distance flight which is not only troublesome but costly too.Jeck is one of the main pillars of the modern GSD.He was very close to perfection.

Brittany, according to SV rules it is prohibited to use a dog's sperm for breeding. It all should happen in a "natural" manner :)))

This dog was NZ. He is probable is most of the GSD pedigrees. Should that have been a factor in his breeding approval?

My fav. GSD ever born! Certainly, the GSD doesnt get any better than this! Hats off to the breeder!

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
