For anyone wanting access to a direct son of Ursus Batu, this dog continues to stand at stud at my home in California. I can also arrange for shipmnt of chilled semen. However, if you would consider a surgical AI, he has frozen semen stored in California at Synbiotics in Missouri.

Quote from Molly Graf (eichenluft):

"V-Geronimo v Olympus - here is a dog that is the total package. Not VA, but (for me) who cares. He's solid V in structure - and V is "Excellent" - good enough for me. GORGEOUS dog in every way possible. Temperament to die for. He's unflappable - solid, absolutely perfect temperament and nerves. Enough drive for the work and the main thing - he goes forward into the grip with strength, has a good calm grip and is not affected by the threat at all. SUPER all-around excellent dog who should be bred to improve structure, pigment, temperament, nerve and soundness in the Show-line GSD in this country. I have bred my show-line female to him and hope to do so again."

Geronimo completed his breed survey KKL 1"a" for life in February--proudly handled in protection by his owner!

Two excellent breedings with Geronimo have recently been repeated:

(1)V Kendi vom Wildsteiger Land SchH2 KKl 1"a"

(2)V Duska vom Holtkämper See SchH3 KKl 1"a" lbz

Several pups from previous litters by Geronimo and these lovely, titled bitches will be presented at the USA Sieger Show next month in Carson City, Nevada, USA.

Geronimo is entered in the Working Males class.

Check out Geronimo's son from his first litter, Basko von Alvelhaus:

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigr...ree/412561.html

With both Geronimo and Kendi's low ZW scores, Basko has very nice prelim xrays of hips and elbows. The other littermate xrayed so far is Bodo who has clear hips and elbows, too. I don't have any photos of Bodo yet. He is very similar in type and appearance to Basko--not quite as red. For the present, I am raising Bodo and will eventually offer him for sale to someone who will show, train, and title him. Serious inquiries are invited for Bodo and other Geronimo puppies.

Geronimo is proving to be very dominant for producing clones of his type and rich pigment with excellent drives (for green youngsters), temperament, structure, and gait. As several people who have already bred to Geronimo are pleased with their litters, some breedings may be repeated.

I am very excited about his litter due in the next week from the Jello Michelstädter Rathaus daughter, V Duska vom Holtkämper See SchH3 KKl 1"a". With some promising pups on the ground, Geronimo may have a progeny group at the next USA Sieger Show.

BTW, I had the very rewarding experience of handling Nimo in his protection routine at the USA Sieger Show in Nashville. His drive containment and obedience heeling to the blind were absolute, his grips were full and calm, and his outs were immediate. I look forward to handling him for his breed survey for life in 2005.

Picture update posted. Pictured with judge Erich Bösl after NW Regional Breed Show. Gereronimo is more mature and almost 3 years old in this photo. Will try to get better shots soon.

I hope you are right, Preston. The photo on this site was taken when he was only 19 months old. Gotta take some mature shots. Perhaps I will get some at the regional breed show in a couple of weeks. The only recent photos were taken at trials and at club training. If you like, I would be glad to email you some of these photos privately. I train him with Jim Dobbs during the week and at club training (where he is a favorite) every weekend.

Geronimo has two May litters due--but no pups yet on the ground. Debi Sherman has bred her Francie (almost all working lines) by Filou (Al Kerr's old "Dougie") daughter to him.

He has also been bred to V Kendi vom Wildsteiger-Land SchH2 KKl 1"a". Kendi is by Idol Jahnhöhe ex a litter sister to the dam of 2000 Siegerin Chipsi. Kendi's photo on this site does not do her justice.

What positive traits do I expect him to transmit? Hopefully MANY as he came from a uniformly good litter. I drove to Utah and selected 8-week-old Geronimo from the moment I set eyes on him. As I have mentioned before, I am familiar with 5 generations of his family in the USA. For sure, I expect him to pass on the great character and personality of his maternal grandsire. I also believe he will produce his own high drive (a good balance of prey and defense), full and calm bite, strong nerves, focus, dark pigment (lots of BLACK with a rich brown), good hips and elbows, dark eyes, high wither, firm back, broad upper and lower thigh (often lacking in Ursus progeny), athleticism, lack of dog aggression, etc.

Because of his linebreeding on several pillars of the breed, I expect him to be compatible with bitches from various bloodlines (many of which need improvement in pigment).

Congratulations, Louise, on your dog's great accomplishment. He is a very fine looking dog, as I stated before. You deserve a lot of credit for taking him to and thru his Sch.II., and of course, OFA good hips and normal elbows certainly places him ahead of most of the expensive W.German imports (few are able to get this!). Perhaps this dog is going to make a big contribution to the breed stateside here. I hope you keep updated photos of him here, advertising them or listing them periodically on this web site. Does Geronimo have any puppies on the ground and if so, what positive traits do you expect he will pass on to his progeny? What bitches bloodlines do you think are optimal?
Please keep us posted on his progeny and and his producing. Again, congratulations.

Aside from his impressive working attitude, and conformation placements the dog up close in the flesh in *real* life is upbeat, outgoing, and personable to boot!

He has also shown to be a very willing natural breeder! No *dud* here! Bravo Geronimo!

Sandy,

Thanks for your kind comments. If you're ever in Northern California, perhaps you'll have the opportunity to see Geronimo work, too. He is a powerhouse. I love working with him and his half-brother Zeek. I am so glad that Inger kept their dam Quiz who is sired by my old male Alex vom Nord Rasen. I almost have to pinch myself when I realize how fortunate I am to have Geronimo and Zeek. It is exciting having show dogs capable of excellent quality schutzhund work.

Louise, congratulations on your boy's accomplishments. I train at Inger's club in Utah and was able to recently watch Geronimo's littermate, Gorbi, in his first protection work since attaining his SchH3 and he looked great. Looking forward to seeing what they produce for progeny!

Brittany,

If you go to these URL's (http://www.esc-registry.org/ob1.avi 14MB
http://www.esc-registry.org/ob2.avi 5.5MB
http://www.esc-registry.org/obcri.avi 13MB), you may see parts of Nimo's SchH2 obedience an protection routines. Sorry, the video's are not that great--but I was very glad and surprised when my friend took them. He was still a 26-month-old-baby in the videos. Nimo has gained considerable mental and physical maturity in recent months. His work has improved exponentially now that he is back home with me and we are doing private training with Jim Dobbs and going to club training regularly.

If you like, I can send you privately (as email attachments)still photos of some of his work.

Louise, That will be awesome! Geronimois a wonderful male... I love him alot. Im curious if you have any video clips of him doing protection, obedience and tracking?

Are you planning on breeding him any time soon and if so which bitch? (lol it rhymes!)

"Will you be starting his FH's?"

Possibly/probably? We continue to track, of course. However, this is not part of the current greater training goals I am working on with Nimo and his half-brother (V-Zeek vom Olympus II SchH3 IPO3 KKl 1"a", hips "a"normal, OFA hips ("good")/elbows http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/124258.html).

I am training with Jim Dobbs and am concentrating on fine-tuning these boys in obedience and protection so that I will have absolute focus, control, and obedience. Everyone who sees them work is very complimentary of their performances. People from other clubs (with primarily working lines) are starting to hear about Nimo and Zeek and are coming up to me and telling me of the favorable remarks they have heard from one of their club members.

This is great to hear about showline dogs. Fortunately, they have behind them some dogs who produced great working dogs: Cello Römerau, Lasso di Val Sole, Dingo vom Haus Gero, Onyx Batu (whose dam Anda came from the famous Kleinen Pfahl "a" litter which included Anderl and Assie), Marko Cellerland, etc. They even go back to Busecker Schloß dogs and Bernd Lierberg.

Thanks much D.L.! I believe that Malka Nagel may have originally discussed Geronimo (Nimo) with you. He has matured considerably since the photo on this site was taken at 19 months. Malka has always bred primarily top working lines but was one of the first to breed to Nimo's grandsire, V Alex vom Nord Rasen SchH3 KKl 1"a" CDX, also on this site.

Come and visit my boys, Nimo and his half-brother, V Zeek vom Olympus II SchH3 IPO3--also OFA hips/elbows--http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/124258.html). Dixon is not that far a drive from your home in Mountain View.

We are looking forward to seeing what young Nimo (now 28 months) can produce. Brother Zeek is producing his own excellent drives, structure, and gait--prelim hip/elbows x-rays on his pups have been great thus far. The dam of Geronimo and Zeek is a daughter to Alex and has been a fine producer for Inger Olavson in Utah.

I am continuing to work Nimo and Zeek at the Feather River Schutzhund Club and to do some private training with Jim Dobbs in Marysville in order to fine-tune their work--which they both LOVE. I am not content to let showline dogs rest on their laurels after they complete their titles. They need a "job" as well as to be my companions.

This young (26 months) Ursus vom Batu son has completed his IPO3 and had the highest tracking score in the trial. He was trained to all of his titles by American trainer Heidi Theis within a period of barely 7.5 months. Geronimo will stand at stud at my home in Dixon, California. Not having been shown as an adult in a breed show, he is expected to obtain his "V" rating in the near future. Geronimo's hips are rated as "a" normal; elbow preliminary x-rays are clear; OFA hip/elbow x-ray results are pending.

Geronimo has well-balanced prey and defense drives. He is very intense, clearheaded, and has full, hard grips on the protection field. His obedience work is characterized by focus, great toy drive, and eye contact. Geronimo has a very confident character and is friendly and outgoing with adults and children. He represents five generations of trainable, showline German Shepherds with which I have had extensive experience here in the United States. I own his half-brother Zeek vom Olympus SchH3 IPO3 and his grandsire Alex vom Nord Rasen SchH3. These dogs are all well-behaved companions in a multi-dog household.

This outstanding Ursus vom Batu son completed his SchH3 today at the young age of 26 months. He was titled by American trainer Heidi Theis within a period of barely seven months. Geronimo will complete his IPO3 in the near future and return home to Dixon, California, where he will stand at stud.

This young male (26 months) just completed his SchH2 (was also high-scoring SchH2) with very respectable scores with his trainer/handler Heidi Theis. Nimo should complete his SchH3 and IPO3 in the near future and return home to Dixon, California, where he will stand at stud.

He is sired by Ursus vom Batu ex Quiz vom Olympus SchH3.

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
