Joanro, i think its a great reason im not looking to have a world competitor dog right now but if i wanted one i would buy one. Im not to big into sport even though i enjoy watching the dogs work. I guess im two sided i like but theres some stuff i dont like i guess.

One more thing: In Jordan we imported few puppies from a certain strain which is marketed as one of the best bloodline in work, all turned out to be cowards, not worth the money we spent on them

Ibrahim,
Don't you think an experienced breeder would be able to tell this by 8 weeks of age?  If not, shouldn't they be able to tell the temperament traits by 6, 7, or 8 weeks?  I now breeders that can accurately predict the temperament of their pups at very young ages.  I'm sorry that you had some bad experiences, but I am not totally surprised.  I hope the breeder rectified the issue for you.

Honestly, I informed the breeder and kept him posted on their development but I never asked for rectifying. I strongly believe a breeder can tell the raw quality of a puppy at 8 weeks old. Problem is I come from a small country that does not import big numbers of dogs, I myself am not a professional, I am not a well known breeder or trainer, I am the safest individual for a breeder to dump with a useless puppy, I wouldn't be a pain in the ass when I find out I have a lion frame but a rabbit heart, breeder wouldn't loose much of sales if I get angry and shout a bit.
therefore, for a person like myself, chances to get a good puppy from a not so well popular kennel are much brighter.

Ibrahim, I'm sorry you didn't get what you paid for. That always sucks.
(AUBS did not post " not a very convincing reason", I did in my response to AUBS, sorry for the confusion:-)

I am the one sorry, I apologize for my mistake, thank you Joanro for your nice words, I got only one nice dog, by luck as a matter of fact.

Ibrahim,
You are a gentleman and a far nicer person than I am.  You are correct a breeder can absolutely tell the "raw quality" of a pup at 8 weeks.  If they can't, then they have no business breeding dogs.  If they can, and ship that dog to you regardless of the flaws in temperament with out telling you, it is just as bad as sending a dog with a known physical defect, IMHO.  But, it happens every day.  When you buy a pup, and explain what you want to a supposed "knowledgeable, experienced" breeder you hope to get a pup that is mentally and physically sound.  However, dealing with some breeders, hope is about all you've got.

I've imported 3 dogs within the last 3 years....First was a nice pet dog. Came from a very well known breeder. Imported her at 5 months. Second was a very nice male...bad elbow. Breeder was more than gracious...refunded 1/2 money and I placed dog in pet home. Third is 9 weeks. Also own a domestic bred female....I will trial her this spring. There are plenty of good dogs right here in states.

Ibrahim...I feel your pain. Been there. People always say crap shoot but when you drop a few thousand and dog is nothing what you wanted or was told you would get, it pisses you off.

Glad that you have the dog that you want now and he is what you wanted, a stable and solid GSD.

I agree, smaller breeders are the way to go.

Judron... Stand Up breeder who gave you 1/2 your money back. Many just offer you a replacement and before you know it, you're running a rescue and trying to place dogs.
