I am curious why we dont hear more about this famous kennel and their current dogs.
Any comments on Attila vom Gleisdreieck.

This is the first time I've seen or heard of him, but he's a damn fine looking specimen!  V-rated, too!

Wait, at second glance, that croup looks to have been photoshopped. Sad Smile  And even with the photoshopping, it looks really steep...

(Goes hunting for more photos...)

Looks like a human has been erased from the picture!

Actually this kennel is the one that the most well known DDR dog, Lord Vom Gleisdreieck came out of. Other than Lord, I am not so sure of anything else.

I have no problem with a person, object or background being edited or taken out from a picture. However to edit the physical appearance of the dog is a BIG issue with me. What really gets to me is when someone enhances the color so that the tan on the dog actually appears red.  Most people don't even realize the editing because they are so over whelmed with the gorgeous red they see.  People need to be honest with what they really have. If you look at Meggy v Gleisdreieck & some of the progeny, you also see this long, flat, topline. Could be not as photoshopped as you might think. I would like to ask if these lines are healthy....I've known several EPI dogs with Lord in the pedigree....but of course there are lots of other contributing ancestors; hence the question. I love Lord & the DDR lines, but are they healthy?

Jackie,
We have a female that will be 7yrs old and has Lord in her 3rd generation. So for, the only issue we had with her was she a split heat a couple of times.. Other than that, no other problems.  We bred her to a male line bred on Lord, 6-5,7.  Not a real upclose linebreeding but with that much and bred to a bitch with Lord in the 3rd generation, is a pretty healthy dose of Lord and throw in alittle Yoschy and Pike, bothh in bitch's 3rd generation also...  Those puppies are only 7 mos old now and up till now no problems. However, the puppies are very hard, high drive and very focused. That was what we were had bred for.  However, these puppies are NOT for pet homes.

Yes, I believe you're right, Jackie! The picture at the bottom of the page, which I don't think is photoshopped, shows the same thing. The croup  and whole topline are quite flat, then the spine takes a rather steep drop to the tail.

Gorgeous dog, though! Look at the focus he shows in some of those photos!

Until guddu made this thread, I didn't realize von Gleisdreieck was still in business.

Lord was also very long-lived, and was active well into his senior years. I would love to have a dog with him in the ancestry.

My best dog ever was a Lord granddaughter. Beautiful dog, nice masculine head. Smartest dog I have ever known. Only bad thing......EPI. Died at 8 of hermangiosarcoma. My current female has Lord/Alk/Brawnson lines. Smart as a whip. Love the Lord lines.
