I did a quick search and this is what I came up with....: )

Potassium, classified as an essential mineral, functions as an electrolyte, which means it transmits the tiny electrical impulses between nerves. In the heart, potassium keeps your heart beating rhythmically. Your body must maintain its potassium level within a narrow range to keep cells, nerves, muscles and the heart functioning properly. Too little potassium in your blood can contribute to a heart attack, but too much potassium, such as what can occur when taking potassium chloride supplements can also affect heart function and lead to a heart attack.

POTASSIUM CHLORIDE

Salt substitute.

Salt substitute

Potassium chloride is used in some salt substitutes as a way to reduce sodium, a major cause of high blood pressure and heart disease and strokes. No-Salt salt substitute consists entirely of potassium chloride, while Morton's Lite Salt is half potassium chloride and half sodium chloride. The amount of potassium chloride used in foods is almost self-limiting, because most people perceive potassium chloride to taste extremely bitter. This additive is safe, but people with kidney disease and certain heart conditions need to talk to their doctors about avoiding large amounts.

Potassium Chloride:  A source of potassium, which is a mineral that is essential for the correct functioning of cells in the body. It is responsible for maintaining the acid base balance in the body.

I feed Blue Wilderness. Have tried all of them. The Salmon has a really strong fish smell. My beagle loves it, but my GSD seems to like the duck better. I got the chicken for the 1st time last nite actually. I get it at petsmart for 52 before tax. I agree with the comment on cleaner stool. I really like it. My GSD prefers raw but this is a kibble she will eat. I had my eye on the dogfood since she was 10mos. old. She has lots of energy but it is recommended dog be 18mos. before feeding. Dont remeber the reason as that was over a year ago. But got same info from one of the vendors at petsmart.

Gemini, the annoying thing about our taxes here......it is 9.75% tax on everything where I'm at in TN.  The highest in TN I think. So, that's about 5 dollars for taxes on a 52 dollar bag lol.  My guys love the TOTW Salmon when they had it before so I'm sure they would like the Blue Wilderness Salmon one.
