Thanks for the kind words,Buddyspal. Didn't really expect to get a comment so it was a nice surprise to see someone even noticed. I get kinda carried away when I talk about our girl. Do you have a dog(s) on here somewhere? I'm very new to this website and I am loving it so far.

DebiSue, she has a sweet, sweet face! And she also has a sweet, sweet owner. I'm so glad that you took her.

We went to a kennel to place an order for a puppy. After some conversation the kennel owner asked if we would consider an older dog instead. They brought in a 2 year old bitch named Airin. Airin was alert and happy to be with people. She trotted around the room and chased a ball. She showed a couriosity in everything around her. They had Airin on consignment and were very anxious for someone to take her. Airin was severly underweight and traumatized and her history was murky. When questioned about her owner and past history the kennel owner was evasive. They also said that we might want to consider another dog if we expected a dog that would be protective. They presented her papers and documents showing good hips and confirmation etc. We looked at several other dogs but something about her personality drew us back to Airin. We agreed on Airin and took her home. We knew she had several faults so we had her spayed immediately. We wanted a pet and had no intentions of breeding her. She came with a lot of baggage. Someone had abused her. She tried so hard to please us but it took a year before she would wag her tail. It was almost as long before she became an eager eater. She used to tuck her tail and spin and ki-yi if scolded. It would break your heart. As she was already obedient, we enrolled her in agility classes to improve her self-confidence. She has become quite the clown. She loves to play tug of war and keep-a-way. She is now convinced everyone who comes to the house has come there to love on her. She took almost five years to discover her voice. She will now challenge strangers at the door if asked to. Sad to say the papers about her hips were incorrect. She has severe hip dysplasia in one hip and an eye disorder caused by an autoimmune disorder. We are keeping her health problems under control with medications and she is a very happy, sweet, sweet girl. We are so glad we chose her and didn't give up on her.
