I did not expect to comment on Yak 4 years later.

I am quite impressed with what Yak has produced over the last few years.

I have moved to an ancient town of Lijiang in China had the priviledge of using Yak as a stud for 2 of my females (a mother and her daughter).

The daughter should be due on May 29 (a week from now) and the mother in July.  I can't wait to see the outcome.

The pedigree of the puppies of the daughter can be viewed at : http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/para.utkoma?fadir=122169&modir=468843

Linebreeding - 5 generations

The pedigree of the puppies of the mother can be viewed at : http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/para.utkoma?fadir=122169&modir=468842 and has the following linebreeding:
I shall be grateful for your comments on these matings.  Thanks.

I have one of Yak's puppies. He's now 2 years old and has a wonderful disposition. Truly the best GSD I've ever had. See him at Brisco vom Astral on this site. If you can get one of Yak's puppies, do it!

He is in China, but I don't have contact info. If you contact Hermann or Jorge from Holtkamper See, they will have that.
He is an incredible producer as we are now seeing fully in the last year. I tried to get a breeding to Yak last year but he was just about to leave Germany, so I then used one of his nice sons and have been very pleased.

Can anyone tell me what country Yak was sold to? Does anyone have an e-mail address or website so I can contact the owner? Thank you

I apoligize Nicos, but I had to make a point of how easy it is to obsorb another posts opinion (Troll about Yak). I only recently found out that Troll was a member here and not a subhuman insult. I meant no disrespect to Troll the member. To Wilhendorf I found no humor in your comment.
I will do everything in my power to support the fair showing of the GSD and to expose those that exploit the breed.
I look forward to seeing you all at the Sieger Show end of month and for those visiting early I hope that you enjoy Germany.

I am not from India but I have already figured out that the only time a Frankengold dog will place well is with Frank judging or a friend of Frank. I think that the progeny tells the truth and the quality runs thin. Just my own opinion.

Fantastic male very good producer of color and temperament. One to look for in the VA class this Year.
Congratulations to the owners of and breeder of this fantastic male.

I've got a girl from Yak. She has same beautiful face and pigment. And ourstanding temperament too. I think Yak deserves his high rating, he is a true improver to the breed. I am very thankful to my breeder for allowing me to own this little miracle.

Yak vom Frankengold is a V-Rated dog worthy of any breeder's attention. I have puppies from this male and I can attest that he improves temperament and pigment. This is a fact regardless of the breeder or politics. I give credit to Mr. Goldlust (who I do not know)for breeding this dog. I give thanks to Mr. Niedergassel, the owner, for allowing me to breed to Yak.

Mr.Troll is right. This list is more about politics than dogs.Though I don't agree with his sarcastic comment that to comment on this board one has to be from India.Politics is everywhere and in every field of life and I don't think anyone can avoid that in today's world,so why blame us Indians only.

Troll

If you are still reading this.

My apology if whatever I said has offended you, which was definitely no intention of mine.

Like I said, I am a newbie and I am trying to learn from this site, how to tell a good dog from bad, training, etc.

While I appreciate your opinion on the judges' ethics. I felt that the discussion of judges' ethics is (and has been) more appropriately discussed and expressed at the message board and I am aware of your opinion on this subject.

I would also like to know your opinion on this dog, just like Double B, Big B and Martin did. In fact, you could go a step further, in addition to expressing your opinion on the "V" or no "V" on this dog, tell me what is good or bad about this dog.

Thanks.
Laris

This is a board that makes it clear that to place a comment you must 1) be from India or 2) be a wona be judge or breeder.
I won't waste my time on this side of the board anymore. It is ALL about politics.
But as a buyer, I can assure you that none of my money will go to your pockets. Continue your sorry dialogue.

I do agree that everyone has a right to their opinion but according to Mr.Double B if Yak can be V20 then why not V3?We've seen many top dogs starting very low early in their careers and then coming upto VA and even win the Sieger title.
No one raised any question when the great Quando Arminius won Sieger twice under the Arminius owner Herman Martin. In recent times Orbit won VA under his breeder Mr.Messler.(He could've placed him higher if he wanted).Everyone knows what Quando did for the breed as he's one of the few major sires in the breed.Orbit produced 2 magnificent VA bitches this year.People who're spreading rumors about different dogs(Yak and Quentin are only 2 of those dogs),should think twice before spreading any. This is a list were we should discuss the plus points and the minuses of a dog and his/her progeny and not find faults in the owners. It's a rather sadistic attitude to throw mud at top dogs and reputed breeders.

Thats the good thing with gsd, everyone has his on opinion and his own typ.

An absolutely gorgeous dog.I don't understand why people think he doesn't deserve V3.I think Quentin is also a deserving winner and Mr.Goldlust did a good job in placing him SG1.

In my humble opinion, this dog deserves it. :) He's very much my type and an eye catcher.

Excuse me. I didn't realize that this was a closed forum and only those comments accepted by Laris were to be posted.
"The opinion on Frank Goldlust has been discussed at the message board, but let's give the dog (regardless the owner/breeder) its due credit."
You ask, "Politics aside, in your opinion, does this dog deserve a V3, or for that matter, a "V" rating?"
IMHO, take the dog out of the political circle that he is showing in and get a qualified honest opinion.
Double B
Posted: Wed Oct 15, 2003 03:03 pm
In my opinion he deserves a seat like V20 till V30
Laris

Thanks Double B for the "insight"

Politics aside, in your opinion, does this dog deserve a V3, or for that matter, a "V" rating?

to Laris:
Yes Mr Meßler gave him V3, but Mr Goldlust was judging the youthclass male and put Quentin vom Karanberg on sg1, and this dog is owned by Nikolaus Meßler the son of Mr Meßler,so the one helps the other, thats the deal.

Yes, from Meßler, and a V3 as well :)

Yak is a strikingly beautiful dog.

I am a newbie and I may be missing something. I thought Yak receive its V rating from Peter Meßler.

So help me out here, is Peter Meßler doing a favour for Frank Goldlust in the case of Yak or Yak does deserve its V rating?

The opinion on Frank Goldlust has been discussed at the message board, but let's give the dog (regardless the owner/breeder) its due credit.

i personally have no respect for Frank Goldlust as it appears that the only way his dogs do well is when he judges them or their progeny.

I have Yak puppies that are now 10 months old and they have turned out very nice. The character and temperament are the very best!

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
