Can someone tell me please are there any Pet Insurers (other than Pet Plan) that provide breeders with free puppy insurance for puppies the first 4-8 weeks from leaving the breeder.

The AKC offers a 60-day free healthplan.  What type of insurance are you looking for? Health? Mortality?

Thanks FlashBang but in the UK here.

Come on all you UK breeders that use Pet Plan haven,t you read the new Puppy Charter!!!

Just a couple of points

Look at No. 5. in so many words it reads like you now must purchase Kennel club pedigrees at £7 per puppy for the insurance to be valid.

What about No. 12. not all vets will administer the 2nd vaccination until 12 weeks of age.

This is the reason why i'm looking to find an alternative to Pet Plan.

I read their new charter, glad I'm no longer breeding is all I can say.
A friend of mine has horses which he insures through e&l insurance, they insure mostly anything. He says they use to do puppies too, free puppy covers for 12 weeks. Not 100% sure as I have never heard of them but it would be worth inquiring. Their web address is www.eandl.co.uk tel 08449 809 031

For free insurance e&l may be ok, but beware on any more than that. We had load of problems with them some years ago, they have alot of clauses in the small print that means very little is actually covered.

Thanks Bazza but a friend who also keeps Dogs and Horses has confirmed what Kazeti has said regarding e&l so another one to avoid.

Think I might have to have a word with my mate about this, he has used them for his horses a while now. Mind you, don't remember him ever saying he has had to make a claim.
Sorry Shepherdguy this wasn't more helpful.....back to the drawing board. Surely there must be more than just Pet Plan??
