Hello,

Our female, who just turned 1 year old yesterday, has been in heat for 20 days (as far as we know). How do we definitively know when her cycle is over? Her discharge turned to pink and then stopped as of this afternoon...is she done?

Thanks!

nice advice Don..true !!!.the males... will tell you long before that the HEAT cicle is about to occur [ and if in pack the other females will cue you too !!] AND they also will let you know it has ended ]

Some have better "scenting ability" than others, though. (reminds me of a recent discussion)  I have a youngin' in her one year heat now, and while one of the boys took a very definite interest five days prior to her first blood spotting, the other paid no notice until two days after her spotting.

I would not count on her heat cycle being quite over yet.  Close, but keeping her seperated from males a bit longer.  Better safe......

Thanks all for the advice. So wait a few days longer before taking her out in public?
