I am in a vet office and someone came in with a small dog whose face looks 90% GSD but the size of a terrier or Corgi. Legs are stubby and twisted. Color and markings and coat type and face look GSD.
He looks So GSD!
Found him in a shelter.
Your opinion?

Cardigan Welsh corgis can look like short-legged GSDs. Most dwarf GSDs (in my experience) are pituitary dwarfs, not short-legged (achondroplastic) dwarfs. They resemble miniature GSDs in proportion, but don't have full coats due to the lack of hormones.
Here's one that belonged to Tigg, who posts on this board. He lived to a very ripe old age -15 or 16 years!
Edit: had to do a board search, and managed to find the thread Tigg posted as a tribute to him when he passed away at the age of 16. He was quite a character, and as Tigg said, a very fine dog indeed!
There are several pictures in the thread, as well as his pedigree.

P.S. - you might want to have a box of tissues handy before you read the thread.

Looked at face which was not full GSD looking, but dwarfs are not looking fully GSD anyway.
Something had been done to its neck so that the fur had been removed. The body fur may have been cut back but still it looked as much as I could see as it was in the owner's arms was like regular GSD texture and undercoat.
I have to be here tomorrow, but I bet she will not be. Have to wait and see and if back look even more closely. Let you know what happens
