Can anyone tell me why I am paying $122 for advantix, when I can pay $45 for Zodiak? The active ingredient is permethirin in both. The Insect Growth Regulator is pyriproxyfen in Advantix and Methoprene in Zodiak (same as frontline). Is there any difference? Zodiak claims to trump advantix...why is it so much cheaper??? I haven't been able to find anything bad about zodiak...I've used Advantix for years...but it is un real high.
What do you guys use, that has been effective against ticks and fleas?

I use Sentry Fipro Guard buy it on line from Amazon $12-22 a box about 1/3 as in the store price and it works good with Fleas don't know how good with ticks as they are not a problem for me.

ordered some bug off garlic last night. I have some friends that are using this and getting GREAT results. It's an alternative to the nasty chemicals we are putting on our dogs.
Western- Doesn't the sentry fipro mimic frontline? Frontline does not work well around here. This is why I have been using Advantix II. Saw the Zodiak at my hardware store yesterday for $14 for 4 doses. Compared ingredients and about fainted...lol.

I have not had a flea problem until this Spring. I looked at many products and I wanted to use only one product and this is the only one I could use for puppies, adults and pregnant females.
Don't know the difference in it and Zodiak just that it has been approved for all dogs. There may be more but when I found this I quit looking, seemed to work after three months of use and spraying the grounds I have not had any more fleas through the summer.
