I know Merle is a fault for GSD, but is it still possible to get one out of a litter, like Brindle or Panda.  Here's one at a rescue, doesn't look mixed to me, just merle:

Any experiences with Merles appearing in a litter ?

Wow! Just look at that! I can't wait to hear what our experts say about this!

No purebred German Shepherd - I think it´s impossible - but a good looking dog...
Maybe some Australian in there

Susie we are on the same page. Stunning stunning dog but not pure. I wonder his age and heighth--I sort of see great dane in there. Not just tall and leggy but there is just something that leads me to that--from the head back.......JMO

If they will let long coats in, just wait awhile maybe this is next.  More  and more crap.

Gorgeous, but not purebred--unless there's been some sort of mutation. Merle is dominant, so one of his parents would have to have had the gene. Maybe he's GSDxAussie bred back to GSD. Or, perhaps, merle Beauceron x GSD?

IDK I love the looks of that dog but not a GSD. The brindle is extinct in the breed, I dont believe any of the so called brindle GSDs have been shown to be purebred. This is not the case for the "panda" which is a result of a genetic mutation of the white spotting gene. Im No expert just have looked into it a time or two.

@Harrison,
I wouldn't be so quick to say that brindle is completely extinct. Take a look at this guy. His name is Eli and has AKC registration papers.

I forgot to add that Eli is still a puppy and when he was very young, he looked like he was a bi color
