Hello! I'm still here.... Reading, lurking, and learning. I posted a little over 2 months ago about my GSD puppy, Lily, and her housemate, an adult APBT, Zeux. I was having issues with them getting along; and with Lily in general, as she is a very high energy/high drive puppy. I have come to realize, thanks to another member of this forum... That I just needed to try out different tools and methods while training with her. The methods I've used with pretty consistent results with all of my past dogs just weren't working with her.

Now, if Lily goes overboard with her playing with Zeux... He gives her his warning and she knows to back off... Completely. She is doing great with on leash walking, obedience, etc.  As she is just at 8 months old, I know we have a way to go in her training. Of course, we still have issues that we are working on. Luckily, I have the advice of the other forum member previously mentioned. Also, I would like to thank the others who posted advice for me when I posted the very first time here. It was, and still is, much appreciated. She is turning into a wonderful dog that is a joy to have around!

I thought I'd share a few pictures taken within the last couple of days. The pictures taken outside... There was a cat a few yards away in the backyard. So, her attention was totally focused on it. BUT... progress... She was very intent on watching it, and not going crazy trying to get at it! I hope I can post the pictures without stretching the page, and that I don't post too many of them. I'm just so thrilled with her progress. I remember at first when we brought her home from the breeder, I was thinking, "There is something seriously wrong with this puppy who is trying to eat us all! What have I gotten myself into!?!" lol

Good job Lilly, and good job you for sticking with it!! So many people get a cute fuzzy puppy and the second they find an issue with it, off it goes to the pound. It's nice to see someone out there that isn't like that!

Thank you Dawulf! Luckily, she is turning into a great dog. Had it been even harder... I still would have stuck with her as long as it took! Thumbs Up
I appreciate the sentiment..
