I am no expert but they look pretty good... :)
which girl is this?

Positioning isn't great, but my best guess is normal for breed and age. I'd be happy if it were my dog!!

Well:  I would love to see the socket on our left side of the screen (probably the right hip) a little deeper, but given the age it may be fine later.  ??  This is a questionable age to do x-rays, however I am not one to want to wait until 12 months.  Sooooo, if it is a matter of keeping or not keeping for yourself, I would probably take the gamble if everything else is exactly what you want in this puppy.  Good luck  Nan

If the pelvis were square I think the right side would look deeper. Once again it's all about positioning and the dog MUST be sedated to the point of relaxation. I'm guessing this dog was not sedated. If so, the vet didn't do a very good job.

Positioning is not good at all, no knee caps, dog is probably too young for evaluation. I personally would not pay for this x ray.   Look at the left and right side . There should be L-R identical mirror image  in shape and size. 100% or close to it.  That can make tremendous difference . Also kneecaps need to be visible in order to see if the legs are torqued in or out or are properly in the middle. If I have to read this I'd say it will pass but as what I have no clue.

The vet told the owner that the pup need surgery!
He will be going to a vet that knows how to take correct xrays next month.

The vet called and really upset the man's wife, she was hysterical, poor thing. They were fixing to set up surgery and called me before making the call. I was able to talk them into getting a second opinion.

Good for you Sitasmom, they definitely need to be redone before even thinking about surgery. JMHO

by SitasMom on 16 August 2013 - 00:08

either cut the femoral head off or where they cut and reposition pelvis.
