Hi could anyone tell me the difference between these form and which is more valued?
IPO WUSV World Championships
USV-Universal-Sieger championship

IPO championship is for a championship for all working breeds, WUSV is only for GSDs and Universalsieger is a new championship only for GSDs. This one has two parts - IPO 3 trial and a show, dogs get points for both parts, points are added together, the dog with the highest points is the winner.

Yogie - no
IPO WUSV = international trial only for German Shepherds - they don´t need any requirements besides their working ability
USC = like cage said trial + show
More valued? Depends on the people...
On a WUSV trial you will find the best German Shepherds in IPO, but it´s ONLY about sport, not about standard or breed worthiness
USC is a pretty young event, I love the idea and do hope more people will try to participate - it´s about the whole dog, interesting for breeders and everybody who´s looking for a German Shepherd able to work AND fitting within the Standard.

Time was when the [German, WUSV] Siegerschau, with its Schutzhund (IPO)component
was seen as precisely what Susie says USC now sets out to achieve - about the WHOLE
dog, GSD-wise. Not to be confused with American definitions of what shows held in the
USA [as representing the 'Universe' ha ha] are supposed to be !

The Sieger show recently held in Belgium could have been better attended by certain countries. It is a event where Working Dogs compete with Show Lines, but to be fair a Top Show line Dog is going to beat and score higher in the Show Ring, and the Working Dog is going to work better in the IPO parts so it is 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.
For me the WUSV is the main event I guess because i am more interested in IPO than Showing. However i did enjoy seeing some excellent looking SL Dogs working in the Belgian Sieger

Is that show that was just in Belgium always there every year?

Although what steve1 says may be generally true - that working lines work better in schutzhund and show lines perform better in the show ring - this is not always the case in the WUSV Universal Sieger Championship. If you look at the trial scores from previous years you will see some show lines who scored very high in the trial and also some working lines who placed very high in the show. So - I do not agree that it has to be 6 of one and half dozen of the other. One hopes that over time dogs that can place well in both the show ring and also on the schutzhund field will be developed for this kind of competition - this would certainly benefit the breed.
