Everyone who have competed or have dreams of competing at the WUSV, please send emails to your regional directors in both organization and have your regional directors send your letter to each organization board of directors and let them know how you feel about having a one qualification trial for both organizations (As it is now) to select the best six handler/dog teams to represent the United States at the WUSV.  There is move to get the WUSV to abolish the qualification trial here in the United States I don't believe the vast majority of the competitors here in the U.S. want that to happen.

One more thing, when sending your emails to your regional directors please Cc the WUSV Board of directors.

Thanks,
Wallace Payne

So, who wants the Qualification trial eliminated, and why?  By what route are they seeking to eliminate it?   Are there any legitimate reasons to consider elimination?   What, if anything, would replace it--back to the alternating 3+alternate formula?

Dan Yee has submitted a request to the WUSV and the WUSV has place it on their agenda for the next meeting.  GSDCA-WDA and GSDCA states that it's to expensive and because of the added expense competitors are pulling from competition.   He claims it is affecting both organization (GSDCA-WDA and USCA) Dan Yee also want the old format of 3 and 3.

This the way I see it:
One:  Just because it's on the agenda does not mean it will change.  There is five other countries in the same situation and it would not be fair to change it for us and not the other countries.

Two: We need to be proactive if we want to keep the selection of the our team the way it is now, because I do not take lightly the relationship between the SV and Dan Yee and USCA should not either.

This sounds more like sour grapes then legitimate concern.

so currently, everyone competes during a weekend and the winners go to WUSV, and Dan Yee wants regional trials and have 2 different regions compete for 3 seats per region?

What was the percentage of qualifying teams that could not afford to participate in the qualification trial?

How many teams qualified and how many competed (not counting injuries)?

by wallacepayne on 18 July 2013 - 17:07

No that's not what Dan Yee want!  He want 3 from GSDCA-WDA and 3 from USCA.

Everyone that was selected to go to the quali trial from both side competed at the quali trial.  I have not asked everyone but of the ones I have asked (Both WDA and USCA0 all like and want the quali trial to continue.  In Oct. of last year at the WUSV Dan Yee asked myself, Curtis Brantley, Jeff Batiste, Rhonda Southern and Shanon Rawlinson if we like the current format of selecting the team and we all told him YES and that he should not try and change it back.

Why change anything the way the selection trials go It is working perfectly okay, What you Guys should be voting for is the way your selection Trial is Judged TWO Judges per phase is a little over the Top certainly the hullaballo over the one done this year. if you want a fair way for all then vote for one Judge from each of your Organizations and a Neutral Judge; That covers the three phases A-B-C, and then all compete together and the best Dogs and Handlers go through. Never be frightened of Competition because that will get you know where
