Parrish, Bomber and Russ - Page 1

Last week I had a secret mission about some secret squirrel Sh%t to take care of and was in the area of Webb City MO so I thought I would stop in and talk to Parrish Evans before departing back home.  I had never met Parrish though I had talked to him on the phone twice (about buying a puppy) I was really impressed with the setup they have.  Nice fields and training areas set up.  The kennel was nice as well.  They have 24 hour security there also.  I can understand this after the death threat sent about  Bomber.  Parrish was pulling in about the same time I was and I introduced myself and we went in and talked for about an hour.  All these stories of him being nuts, crazy etc are in and of themselves crazy.  Parrish is a very nice guy who speaks his mind.  He has his opinions and those are his and he wont change them.  Not all are positions I agree with but he respects yours as well even if he does not agree.  We actually went to lunch because he was free for the most part of the day talked dogs politics and about anything else you could imagine.  In all I was there for about 7 hours.  Russ was kind enough to sit and chat for a while about dogs as well before I had to head out.  That being said if you think you are going to show up and see Bomber forget about it.   

If you are in the area you may give a call and see if you can stop by but dont expect to see Bomber.  I would call first though because there may be a dog or two out and about that may be looking for a Scooby snack as well as the onsite security. 

By the way the puppies looked great from both Catty and Roxy.  Those of you that are getting them should be thrilled they all were monsters. 

So what I learned:
1.  Parrish is not nuts
2.  Parrish is not crazy
3.  You wont see Bomber
4.  Russ is nice and likes to talk dogs
5.  Dogs there are well taken care of
6.  Parrish has a great game plan for what he is wanting to breed and is taking the steps he needs to achieve it



 

From the phone calls involving brokering Catty, I found Parrish to be well spoken and very interesting. Nothing nutz about him!

<sssh!> Geez, guys, cut it out--you'll blow his cover!  Don't you know there's an immense benefit to people thinking one is crazy or irrational?  It helps keep the real nutbags away!

what good is a person involved in dogs if they aren't a little nuts?  all the best ones are

From the few conversations by email that i have had with Mr Parrish Evans, He is far from being nuts; He is i would think a straight fore ward speaking and thinking person who know,s what he wants and where he wants it to go.
Perhaps those who think him a little nuts as some say is because he may have refused the services of Bomber to there Females? Which is his right to do so and they do not like it. if that is the case then it is those Dog owners who are the Nutty ones to think otherwise.

I could have written word-for-word the same post as Steve1,
based on an email conversation with Parrish.  Seems like
a nice guy too, and he definitely has a sense of humour !

Vonissk, a few nice things got said on here about Russ, but
I have had zero contact with him.  Really sorry to hear you had
such a bad experience.

I've never met an elite dog trainer that did not get along better with dogs than he did with people.  If you want someone to kiss your butt and make you feel all squishy inside, then go to Sunday School.  If you want someone to train your dog to the best of its ability, then Russ is your man.

With that being said, I know Russ and he is extremely friendly and a good friend who is willing to share his vast knowledge about dogs with anyone who wants to learn.
