I don't know about how many stars it may get, but we switched to Blue Buffalo.  Shelby was having really bad problems with the food she'd been started on (Purina), and she's done so much better on Blue Buffalo.  They offer different formulas depending on adult size of a breed- so we use the Large breed puppy formula they offer.  It's pretty expensive- a 30lb. back costs $50, but so far it's the only thing that Shelby has tolerated well.

Oh, and since we switched her, she has also gained weight- she went from 9 kilos (and underweight) to 13 kilos in about 3 weeks and is now a normal weight and starting to grow.  We also give her some raw beef and chicken every now and then. Plus lots of tasty treats ;-P

Have you ever tried Inukshuk? I have never used it, my puppy cannot deal with kibble, but, a very good friend is using it and loves how much weight his dogs can gain while feeding it.
I did look at their page, it looks interesting, if I could feed kibble, I may have tried it, but, look into it, you may like what you see and it may work for you.  Good luck.

I am thinking if I HAD to go back to kibble I would first try Back to Basics (38/18 fat).  Or you could try the one at Costco Natures Domaine (Turkey).  People seem to have pretty good luck with that also.  Also if  you shop at Costco, easy to get.  Not sure on the calories of either one but both look OK>  Good luck  Nan

I like Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete(5 star). While it's not grain free it is corn, soy & wheat free. It does a great job of putting/keeping weight on my dogs & not super pricey.
For a grain free food I like the Wellness Core & Earthborn Holistics Grain free & Primitive(all 5 star).
I tend to rotate & feed different kibble, amounts of kibble depending on what raw food stuffs each dogs gets & how they look. If traveling a lot they get more kibble than when at home, they get more raw foods.

Kibbles I've tried & would NOT suggest: Back to Basics, Nutri-Source & Pure -Vita, Royal Canin, Bil-jac....
