any thoughts on how he contributed to the betterment of the breed?

a little bit o mink goes a long way.........a lot of mink (in this case) guarantees a boat load of natural aggression.
having had & still have mink blood in my kennel, i know that this can be put to good use or it can be a disaster
& can produce dogs that are near unmanageable. if you are looking to use collin to bring in some of that natural
aggression & are able to channel it properly, it should do the trick. personally, i don't like mink to fero breedings.
some folks do--i don't. i think there are better choices. i do think iko was one of the better producing mink dogs.
more useable. not as widely used as jago, lewis or crok. i would definately not recommend doing any further
linebreeding on mink. it might be prudent to look at trainability for subsequent generations.

mink produced a pretty fair amount of problem elbows--just something to watch for.

thanks for info, from what i understand Colin was good in the hip producing department? or at least he wasn't a disasaster in that area? what size range is typical?
again thanks for info.

colin, himself, was a middlesized dog @ 63.5 cm. i would expect similar offspring
unless bred to a bitch that produced really large dogs.

Collin is reaching way back there. I have a dog from Eika (repeat of C-litter VH Ming) through Kobalt. I really like him a lot. Not sure about hips and elbows yet as I have not had them done. His mother is only OFA fair but his brother is PennHip in the 85th percentile. Take that for what ever it is worth. I like his overall hardness and drive. More than that I like his confident, friendly out going personality and social stability.

I cannot help you with Collin specifically but I do know of people who have used both C-litter vh Ming and E-Litter vh Ming as foundations for their programs. Lisa Clark from Zu Treuen Haden's foundation female was a daughter of Citty vh Ming, Litter mate to Collin. I would contact her about what she saw coming down from Citty. You can also reach out to Sherman Sint Jago in the Netherlands from Di Casa Sintiago. He used E-Litter Vh Ming (repeat of C-litter) quite a bit in his program. I have found him to be very open and responsive to questions. Finally you can try to contact Ma Ming directly from VH Ming. He is also very friendly and answers emails. My own dog is 3 generations removed from Eika so I really don't know how much influence I am seeing from that particular line.
Good luck!
