Judy P

I purchased an AKC reg showline GSD from Patricia Jordan at Von Jordan Haus last June.  She guaranteed the hips and when this bitch failed OFA last fall she replaced her a working line puppy that her daughter Alicia had bred.  Now when I picked the puppy up there were no shot records even though she was old enough to be fully vaccinated, including rabies I figured I would redo the bare minimum.  Also her paperwork from AKC was not available,  was told that Mom was imported during her pregnancy and all the paperwork was not yet done  I would be getting it.  Well forward until the end of May the following year and you got it -still no papers.  The dam is still not registered with AKC ad I keep getting one excuse after another.  The last one was that Alicia was waiting for proof of the sires permanent KKL1.  She does not need that the register Mom or the litter.  I now have a very expensive and well bred pet who will probably be spayed and placed.  This is just a warning to others as Alicia is advertising puppies out of the same bitch on PDB now.

they do advertise here, I've looked at the website several times. maybe Jordan Haus would like to respond. if it's as you say, I'm sure an ethical breeder would want to make things right.

good luck Judy.

The showline bitch she purchased was BP Alexis vom Fleischerheim (Voltan vom Gletschertopf x Yatze vom Fleischerheim) she was sold to Judy Peters.  She was purchased by a friend, from the Fleischerheim Kennel as a young pup with the intention of  titling.  As she matured it was clear she would not be suitable for Schutzhund. We were asked to help the owner sell her.  She was sold by Fleischerheim with a Hip/Health guarantee but it was non transferable.  We had no reason to believe she would not pass her OFA and as with any dog that is purchased through our kennel, regardless of whether it was from one of our breedings, we offer a hip/health warranty.  We always honor it once proof of proper documentation and evaluation via OFA or SV has been received.  All of these documents were provided by Judy and so we offered a pick puppy from a litter that was not for sale.  It was very clear that at the time that the Sire to this litter was in Germany and would be competing.  AKC requires a copy of the Sire's pedigree which the owner had sent to the SV to be updated.  This male went from being a ScH2 to competing in the LGA and then on the the BSP and after he received his LBZ.  He is now a V 5xIPO3, KKL1, LBZ.  He belongs to a private individual and so getting his paperwork has not been easy b/c they were traveling and competing.  However, a copy of his pedigree was received and paperwork has been submitted.  That pup should never be sold as a "pet", she was the highest drive female out of the litter, would have never left our kennel but was the only pup we had to honor her hip/health guarantee at that time. As for implying about vet records, our vet's contact information is clearly provided on our website and can be contacted by anyone.  Copies of both parent's pedigrees (including the update of the LBZ), mating certificate, AKC foreign dog registration submitted to AKC will be emailed to Judy.  This pup should be working on an IPO and there is no way she is a "pet".  She had a super temperament, crazy ball drive and very high prey drive.

It looks to me like the person you bought the pup from is going well out of her way to make good on her guarantee, including replacing the pup (that she didn't make any money on), with the pick puppy that she was grooming for a big future. She has lost much money by finding you a pup and then living up to her guarantee.

Getting import litter registration is not easy, sometimes it takes several months. I've been in the same situation and it took 9 months to get it straight.

If you are not happy with your replacement pup, send it back.

As I see it, you need to communicate more with the breeder and do much less complaining here.

Would Ms. Jordan take the puppy back and offer a partial refund for the difference between breeding quality and pet quality since Judy purchased a bitch that didn't OFA? Just trying to think of options here, since now there are 2 unhappy parties. It sounds like Ms. Jordan made it clear that the originally sold female didn't have the temperament for SchH, and likely wasn't really breeding quality anyway. Judy could get a bit of money back for her misfortune and concentrate on getting a dog that's ready to breed NOW, which sounds like the goal. The current puppy, who is by both accounts full of promise, could be worked and reach her full potential and when her papers show up, they show up.

My experience with an overseas breeding was 6 mos. before pups had their papers, and I used a very experienced person to complete my paperwork.

If the delay is because of the bitch then she shouldn't breed her again until everything is ready

The issue titling issue is with the stud, not the bitch.

How old was the puppy when it was resold?
Where is the puppy now?
Was the puppy registration transferred to the new owner?

It the puppy registration was not transferred, it could and the hip/elbow info COULD be sent to Fleischer with an explanation that the puppy was being leased. Or it could have if this had not been made public.

OK, when I purchased the first bitch - the Fleisherheim female - I was told that her owner had purchased a couple new dogs he was concentrating on and due to his work schedule he was going to place Lexie.  I purchased her with Patricia knowing full well I had intended to breed her.  She had a beautiful pedigree, lovely temperament and was very quick to learn.  She picked  her basic obedience very fast and seemed to know when someone needed some extra attention.  Unfortunately she OFA'd mildly dysplastic in one hip.  While some people may consider breeding this I will not. You can check OFA to verify the rating.  Patricia was very true to her word about replacing her and for that I highly respect her I even posted on here about this issue and how Patricia stood behind her word - a thing damn few breeders do, including many breeders on this site.

I never held a gun to anyones head forcing them to replace Lexie with this puppy.  It was their offer to replace her with this puppy.  Is she nice, damn straight she is; does she have tons of drive yep she does, she is also smart as a whip. I would have gladly considered another puppy if that option had not been offered to me but it wasn't.  I do like her a LOT.  Had I been told it could be a year before I got her paperwork it would have been fine but wasn't.  Because I know how much Alicia likes this puppy I have offered to GIVE her a puppy when this girl is old enough and health tested and discussed breeding her to one of Alicia's males.  SitA Mom as you said I should contact the breeder, I did numerous times and been given one excuse after another.  There comes a point in time when you need to do something else to get a reponse.

As for this stuff about training and IPO, we have started some training, I do not believe in stressing puppies by putting to much pressure on them.  Believe me there are far more things to do with a dog than IPO, in fact the original dog I purchase from Patricia has been spayed and is living with a family who has an autistic daughter.  She is this girls constant companion and best friend, a job much more important than sport work.

If anyone has any more questions feel free to contact me.

"As for this stuff about training and IPO, we have started some training, I do not believe in stressing puppies by putting to much pressure on them."

You know, of course, that it is entirely possible to imprint young puppies without putting any pressure on them; right?

Either way, as is often the case in these matters, it would seem that a little communication and appropriately setting expectations goes a long way.

It's always good to hear both sides and looks like Jordan Haus resolved the issue. It's not always "excuses", but I don't fault anyone for being a little skeptical after a year.

Communication could have definitely been better and maybe avoided this becoming public.
