Hello - I was hoping to get some opinions on if this puppy is going to be long coated or just a plush coat.  This is a picture of him at 4 weeks old.  None of the other puppies in the litter have as much of a coat on them as he does and the fur on his ears are wavy so I was just curious if anyone would be able to tell me their thoughts.  He's got hair in his ears, but not as much as what I see in other LC GSD's.  Just wanted some thoughts.    THANKS!

Susie - only if it is Registered as such, with countries which accept
the FCI BBS/SWS Standard.  Could just as easily be an AKC or British
KC reg'd  (white)  GSD.  Unfortunately we still have ... a mess !  'Course,
he may not even BE registered (anywhere).   I don't  think the die-hard
BBS/White Shepherd people would want to acknowledge this puppy
anyway, probably.  Look at the amount of 'champagne'  (yellow/tan)
markings on his ears and back.

To the OP, Keengagurl:  Its a little early to tell how long his coat is going
to be, he's too young to do anything but an 'educated guess'.  As you say
he has some, but not much, hair in his ears, I'd probably bet on him having
either a very well-furnished (plush) stock / Standard coat,  or maybe being
a 'longstockhair', with a medium-long coat, so still coated, acceptable for
'long coat' classes at Shows (all other things being equal !).   NOT one of
the very long, open coats.  But you'll have to wait a while and see !  All part
of the fun.Teeth Smile

He looks to me like a regular stock coat, but keep us updated so we can see for sure. :D

In my opinion looking at the picture, he has a very unusual shaped muzzle for a GSD.
Did you receive any registration papers for him?

Also, I don't think that this dog is a long coat.
