I will be taking 3 of my dogs for hips and elbows in early March. 2 are females.
My question is what effect does there heat cycle bring to the table? I used to know
there cycle to the week. I brought in a new female last August, and since then, the cycles
are all over the place. Haven't been able to nail down cycle times. Looks like one of the females going for ex-ray
is getting ready to cycle. Should I wait? Any suggestions would be great. Take care      Pete

Do not take your female in during estrus, it can cause subluxation.  You should try and do it one month before, or one month after a heat cycle.

If you can figure out when that is! Wink Smile

Yes SM! I'm aware. I made a mistake. Thought i posted in GSD forum. Tried to delete other one, but could not. Thank you for your input. Hope I didn't ruin your day.

Have a great day. Take care. Thank you Amy. You confirmed my thoughts. Pete

Pete, this is what happens when you have multiple females in the house! they selfishly screw the cycles and adjust to be close together....... one day! LOL

Good advice was given. Rule of thumb, females blow coar about 1-2 months (closer to one) just before the heat! and Yes, wait because it could show as little looser.

Good luck of the x-rays!

Thanks GSD. Sure didn't know about blowing coat part. Good info. I will surely wait until sure heat cycle has passed, and keep working them.
Thank you. Take care. Pete
