I want to buy a Import, 11 month old GSD Female, I'm not sure what questions to ask, and if I can trust the people, how do I know if its a Scam, How do I know if I'm getting the same dog, how much should shipping be, and who do they use. Any help would be appreciated. What paper work should I get for a 11 month old ? Do I get breeding rights for her from Germany?

your should definatly get pink "SV" papers, and a puppy passport, in order to breed over here family tree must be HD free, and @ least sch1 titled pups will be chipped, (if u want to authenticate a german chip it will be 15 digit not 10)

It is cheaper to go get it then ship it here, and if you do not know them do not trust them. Buy your crate here and take it with you.

Withholding breeding rights is an American invention. Never heard of it in Germany. You won't be ask to spay her either.

The Germans x-ray in the age of 12 months for HD/ED.

I agree with Susie. . Wait and get one after x rays are taken.  You also need the paper from Germany to register
over here with AKC, and I believe also DNA

You need to trust your seller or do not buy the dog. Buying a dog from over sees is a leep of faith especially if you do not know the seller or are not using known middleman who can check the dog for you. You should get in reasonable time  transfer papers and pedigree . Do not buy 8 mo old dog withour  xrays of hips and elbows.
Shipping is a responsibility of the seller but in Germany it  must be done by a shipping company,  like PetAir. I trust PetAir 100%. They will call you and charge your cc. You can call them during their regular bussiness hours for a quote. FYI shipping will probably cost you at least  $800 . If you call them from US  dial this number: 011 49 69 69 4750.

You will also need the export pedigree and bescheinigung along with the pink SV papers to get a dog registered with the AKC

WoW, Thank You All for you expert advice, i'm really going to do my home work on this one, I'll ask the seller about the x-rays and see his responce,  I have had no responce yet. I will wait until the GSD is 12 months old. Thank You All for the help.
