We have a 22 month old female we are trying to get bred to our male, and we have never run into this problem....when he makes penetration, she also makes the same breeding motions as if she were the male, and causes him to lose contact, therefore, he cannot get her hung....we have tried her with 2 males, and neither one can get the job done...if we could keep her from hunching back, she would get bred....any one had the same problem, ever? In 13 years of breeding, this is a first.....we need to figure out how to keep her still.....long enough for him to get her hung up....please help....we have been working with them for 2 days now....

just let the two of them run together for a while...........she wants to frolic a bit.

I would do an AI instead then. Or try putting your arm under her groin area to keep her still.

Is your male the best match for the female?  Sounds like a convenience breeding vs. a breeding to produce the best possible pups.  I never bred to my own studs as they were related, but also not the best matches to improve the breed.

Sorry for sticking my nose in, but I think breeding should be done to improve the breed.  Breeding the best bitch you can find with the best stud available, even if it means shipping the bitch to the stud or doing an AI.

Sounds like it might be a day or two early for her.  You may try one person
sitting in a chair holding her collar and the other person holding her under
neath as the other poster stated.  Usualy when the female is playful  it's
a bit early to breed.  JMO   I would not  Al  her if this is her first time.  Have you
checked her out by a vet ?  Maybe she has an obstruction.
