GUNNERS DAD

by GUNNERS DAD on 09 February 2013 - 14:02

Im looking for a good contact in germany,  is there any trustworthy breeders for a Working line GSD, I'm looking for a Male WL BH, or IPO1, that does what they say, I was looking at a GSD last weekend advertized as BH and pink papers said BH and the dog did nothing, would not sit, come or listen to the trainer he just ran around.

Been here since 2004. There is only one person I can trust since coming to the gsd. I am writing you to tell you make sure you even check to be sure who you communicate really belongs to the name they are using as that one was even done on me. The worst thing this post of yours will bring you is hundreds of private messages of you can trust so and so from people on an alias sending you to thier own litters or their business partners litters! lol Very good luck to you, but please TRUST in no one, be suspicious, check and double check...... pretend you are fbi investigating someone to issue a carry permit and you might make out ok.  If they do not like to answer questions or get offended move on. Do not take the promise of the dogs hips elbows were done and all good, look it up get proof.

Gunners Dad:

You might want to look outside of Germany there are lines of great value and solid dogs in other countries. The US is producing dogs of equal quailty right here.

Prices in the U.S. seem to be double though.

I was going to get a pup from the Netherlands last fall, The pup was 700 Euro and for the breeding it came from it was a very reasonable price. Unfortunetly the shipping was 800 Euro which was cost prohibitive to me I could afford the pup not the shipping.

I really believe that alot of good dogs are over looked here in the US just because of the mind set that if it comes from Germany it,s better or more legitimate.

Well put, Bob. I myself am someone who likes to meet the dog before I buy it, so I'd just as soon take a roadtrip to somewhere in the US than buy a dog overseas and hope it turns out to be what the seller said it was. Considering shipping costs too, I don't think there is all that much of a difference in overall price.

What about Sweden or Denmark?

I don't know any of these kennels.

But just wondering why people don't look towards these countries as well ? :)

This is by far my favorite kennel - but getting a reply back from them was very difficult .

I agree with Bob, I've seen several dogs or pups in Europe that I'd like to buy, but when the price of shipping is more than the dog/pup itself, that I must say is a big OUCH!
