I have a pedigree for a GSD from 1940's Japan. Can anyone read Kanji? LOL - Page 1

According to Granny, she purchased the puppy, Edo, when she lived in Japan (my grandfather was stationed there in the Air Force) during the American occupation after WWII.  She said he was bred from Japanese war dogs, and his sire, Sato, was on the premises when she bought Edo.  I recall her saying he was a beautiful, majestic dog, and she watched him pace his giant domelike kennel like a sable and tan gladiator.  While she lived in Okinawa for the next several years, Edo showed unyielding dedication to his family and was particularly protective of her and my uncle, who was a baby at the time.

The earlier generations on the pedigree are mostly German dogs, of course.  But they read like a who's who of prominent sires and dams from the revival of the breed.  Edo, it turns out, was a direct descendant of Klodo vom Boxberg, Baron von den deutschen Werken, among others.  It may fill in some gaps for a lot of other pedigree enthusiasts.  But almost half of the dogs on Edo's pedigree are Japanese, and I have NO idea what their names are, or if anyone ever even recorded or kept track of the Japanese lines as well as the Germans did.
