Better how?

Better.....as in conformation for show??
Better as in WL for sport??

Or, do we just like to think that it became better? To fit in with where we are now.

When was a GSD last seen going over a scale like that?  The tendency towards bigger and heavier dogs in the show ring has certainly meant that you will not see that kind of athleticism from that quarter. I have seen one or two really very nice moderate SL that were nicely athletic, but not to this degree. The VA and V rated dogs being promoted have been getting heavier in build and would never get anywhere near this.  Perhaps some WL still have it, but better than in the clip?

No, these dogs aren't pretty in a 'show' sense, but hell they are able to do it all, and that IS pretty attractive to me.

Loved the video, thx for sharing.  Did you see the woman in her high heels and mid-calf dress, can't even imagine trying to work a dog in that atttire, cracked me up.  Nan

I like the hair cut of those men a lot, much better than today's fad Teeth Smile

Hmmmm, I like actual hair too Ibrahim, rather than it all shaved off which seems to be the fad here.

Abby: "When was a GSD last seen going over a scale like that?"

That was in the late 70s....
The wall was changed not because the dogs weren´t able to climb it up any more but because there were too many injuries.

With correct training a lot of dogs are capable to do so, but no responsible trainer would teach it today.
