Our 11 year old female has cancer and will be going in for treatment this week. The outcome in most cases I have been reading says she may have 8 to 22 months.
Looking back I wish we had taken the chance to have her bread but that never came about.
So now I am thinking of finding a replacement once she is gone but would love one from the same bloodline as the one we have now.
I have not found any litter syblings of her but her father listed here on the site has close to 900 so I assume there is a chance to find a pup from this same blood but have no idea how to track the bloodline foreward to find one.
Both her father and mother were owned by my son's airforce recruter who has also now had to be put down due to bad hips at age 9, but Bessie has had no hip problems and has been the best all around dog my wife and I have
ever had and going to be very hard to replace.
Our 11 year old is
Bessie Vom Bitburger Adlerhorst Dam born : 23. March 2002
UKC P342-114
born in Germany and brought to the US
Her father was
Heiko von der schwarzen Nister
1994
SZ 1893045
Her mother was
Sitta vom Bamberger Domplatz
1994
SZ 1912076
Any ideas of where to start looking ?

OP is looking for a working line dog, sup.

To the OP, looks like your female was from the easily found
lines going to Fero/Troll, Gildo etc. Won't be too difficult for you
to find a similarly bred pup. Plenty of Fero type linebreeding
around.

Well I was told she was part of a group of dogs that had been bred for the airforce by a couple guys stationed in Germany. One was my son's recruiter when he came back to the US and had Heiko & Sitta with him when he came home.
Bessie was 1 .5 years old and still with the co- owner in Germany when he had to leave the service on a medical and brought Bessie home with him. Once here he had not place to keep her the way she needed to so through my son's recruiter, we ended up with her at two years old papers an all.
The son's recruiter passed away before Bessie was ever bred and developed bladder infection problems and she was spayed. so now no records of other pups from her litter or anything except the papers I have for Bessie.
I wish I had a good photo of her here on the PC to upload . Perfect temperment and all. Now with her going on 11 years old and more a part of us than I care to admit I just want to get her in and have the cancer taken care of and let her live as long as she can pain free.

Someone more experienced than me once advised me to replace a much loved dog with one that was very different, different line, colour etc. His rationale was that the new dog would have more chance to not be constantly compared t the old one.

True I agree maybe go male next but love her coloring not a full black mask but traditional black and tan with mask.
Every dog responds differently and has a very different personality most end up spoiled children thanks to my wife anyway.
I have been looking but need to see what is ahead for Bessie this week at the hospital.

There is no such word as "replace". A new pup/dog will never walk in the same pawprints. Each is an individual.
Look for the lines etc that fit your "now" living situation. Best wishes. Hard I know.
