Hi ALL , Just to inform you as soon as possible with as much info as I currently have available.
The German Sieger 2011 will not be in Braunchsweg as previously announce but either in Ulm or Aachan, there may also be a change to the previously scheduled date.
Hopefully all will be revealed by this evening or if after the coming weekend.

Hi Carole.
Nothing mysterious, think there was a problem with the stadium at Braunschweg so they had to find another venue which obviously means reaching agreement with a different Landsgruppen Club and all the necessary volunteers it takes from that area to organise and hold the Sieger show (which as you can imagine is no mean feat).
It was due to go back to Ulm in 2012 , so it may be brought forward a year and of course the availability of a venue, which by necessity for size etc has to be a stadium, is always a major contributing factor when deciding where the show will be held.

It is my understanding that the SV are meeting today to discuss the problems related to the Braunshweig venue, which apparently relates to contract issues and a possible double booking.

I also understand that the Braunshweig local authority is making strenuous efforts to help in this matter.

This is a very serious matter, with thousands of people having already booked accommodation and flights etc. I hope for their sakes, there are NO changes made.

What i heard today david is that the grass areas around the stadium were all the young classes walk are due to be replanted or re layed. And they dont know if all will be ok for the siegershow weekend so i think as sue said it wil be held somewhere else.

Who do we send the bill for the £800 our group will be out of pocket if we cancel the hotel rooms at Braunschweig?
We had to pay in full at the time of booking and only get a small proportion back if we cancel.

what sort of hotel is that? When we book, the agreement has always been in a number of differing hotels that we can cancel up to 24 hrs before without charge ! I would have thought its a pretty poor hotel that cant fill those spaces a year in advance - I wouldnt be taking that nonsense, but I suppose if you paid your money knowing those conditions so be it.... buyer beware again, there are plenty of better deals on booking hotels by the sound of it. Mo.
