I doubt you were 'crucified' for not putting Dery's X ray pix up on here;
people on the forum can be outspoken (sometimes rude) but they
do not usually condemn people for just not having Xrays available.
Unless you subsequently downright refused to provide them ?
Yes this Belgian breeder (?) / dealer should not have been selling pups
IF HE KNEW THEIR PARENTS had uncertified or poor hips - but
there is an element of "buyer beware" here too; why buy a pup from
parentage whose hip score you don't have, or think good enough; you
might get lucky, but there is obviously increased risk. [And if your
argument is you didn't know of HDs existence @ the point you bought
your puppy, why buy any dog of any breed - especially shipped in unseen -
when you haven't done prior research ?]
Like Dantes says, its been six years; time to let it go, not dig it up again
for another moan.
Sorry, JMO.
Linda.

I agree, it's time to move on - life throws things at us and we have to deal with it rather than let bitterness take over. I have a dog with HD, from dogs with fantastic hip scores going way back. I was devastated at the time, but it was just unfortunate. More importantly (IMO) how is Dery doing?

All I can say is that I learned a great deal about HD, as you do once you have had more than one dog with it, as I have. I am very lucky, my girl is enjoying life to the max (she is the dog at the back in my avatar), this photo was taken on Boxing Day this year, and she is aged 10yrs 1 month in the photo.

You had a dog whose hips proved substandard;
so you had him operated on, and started pointing
out to anyone interested that the kennel you bought
him from was at fault. Despite the fact that you
chose to buy him from that kennel in the first place.
Fair enough as far as it goes that its a warning to
other purchasers of dogs that this was a supplier
who did not take proper care to manage his stock
to get good hips, if that was the case.
Did you update your info since then ? Can you show
that kennel didn't learn any lessons and still doesn't
bother about hip status ? If so, all well and good.
But somewhere along the line it has morphed into
"I didn't get a good temperament either, and I had to
put the dog down" ... and that is the sellers fault too ?
The piece on your website didn't mention that, and as
you replied to Abby you don't normally go into that detail
- but it sounds to me like it still helps fuel your campaign ?
You had that dog quite a while before you got the biting
incident, so there's no guarantee that was a matter of his
breeding.
You asked for comments, what would any of us do ? I am
still saying that it is time to let it rest, unless you can show
that the seller is still producing sub standard pups. [ I don't
care if you CAN say that, btw, I have no connection with the
guy so I'm not going to bat for him; just think you ought to
really move on, unless there is something current to expose.]
Harbouring bitterness isn't good for you.
