Have tube feeding supplies on hand just in case mama dries up........sometimes with only one puppy it happens.

You can breathe now....

I've had 2 singleton litters.
One the mama had plenty of milk through out.
One mama dried up after about 4 days, and that is when the trouble began......
I wasn't prepared, ran to the store and tried to bottle feed. Puppy had an issue with goats milk first..she became so constipated she howled all night long (changed to formula)....Vet had to unclog her!
Later she aspirated from bottle feeding and almost died of pneumonia.... I was on 3 days/nights of deathwatch....but she pulled through.
I tube fed after that and she recovered and is my brat girl now.

All I can say is be prepared!
Food scale - get puppy weight daily and record it.
Theromomater - take mama's temp every day for a week
Puppy formula
Tube feeding kit
And find a reproduction vet or experienced breeder that can teach you how to do it if needed. Call now and explain your situation........so they are if needed they wont be surprised.

Monitor closly, if the pup doens't gain weight every day..........you wont have much time to act.

OH, and enjoy the experience.........
Give mama lots of love...and puppy too.

Congratulations on a cute healthy pup!!!
I had a Lab that did the same thing, wouldn't leave her pups to go out,
so I had to take her by the collar and drag her away,
that is a sign of a very good mom!Thumbs Up

I'm waiting for my Lab to have her litter anyday now, I do think she's having about 8 pups,
first time mom though, I hope she's as nice as your girl with her pups!

 Enjoy your pup!
