is it ok if im going to breed my showline gsd to working line gsd?

by Paul Garrison on 05 January 2013 - 18:01

This is a America sure you can. But should you?  For what reason.  I would not. Suggestion if you are looking for something in particular  go find it and buy it, you will probley save time and money.  if you breed the VA1 dog and the BS first place dog you will not get what you think. IMO

Do not breed them. I own a male from a show x working breeding. He is very hard to handle and snaps easily. Training goes in one ear and out the other. I have never had trouble training a dog before, but Sam is very stubbon and does what he wants like a cat. Never ever will I buy a show x working line dog.

How can you judge the success or failure of breeding SLXWL on a single dog?  The success or not of any breeding lies in the pairing.....just the same as if you are breeding SL to SL or WL to WL.
Those are not always successful either LOL.

There are breeders who have bred both "lines" together who are very please with the results.Hopefully they will respond to this thread.  Every GSD alive today goes back to the same foundation dogs.
