Thank you everyone for your input!  I have contacted the local sheriff department here in KY and their sheriff in MI.  I have also contacted their animal control officer.  The wife left me a message saying that if I contacted animal control on them that she would do the same to me.  My response to that is that is fine.  I have a kennel liscence and know my animal control officer and have nothing to hide here.

Just cease all communication from this point with them.

It's obvious its now a he said/she said deal and it will only cause this issue to get worse. You need to consider this a legal matter now and stop all communication with them and on here about the case.

This is the link:

If you found them online and communicated the arrangement via email then you can file a complaint and it will go federal. Usually the FBI will field it to the county or city SO/PD and try to work it out that way.. If not it gets bad pretty quick.

Go to the site and read everything carefully.

If it is a couple, which I know is the case of the kennel you Googled because I have seen them both at many events (FWIW I do not know them nor do I own a dog from them), one can belong to USCA and one to WDA (and the dogs co-owned).  No rule against that.

bcrawford,

Thank you do much for your reply!  I appreciate all of your knowledge and research on this!  I have tried to work with these people and all I get is cursed out!  I consider myself to be a very reasonable person.  I am not perfect,  but I always try to do right by people that I work with!  I even told them that if they didn't have the money to pay me back at the moment that I would happily take payments to make it easier on them!  I can completely understand that some people are short on cash in this economy, but this isn't even about the money anymore, it's about good customer service and about the principle of the matter!!  I am not even concerned about spending twice the amount paid just to get it back, I just want justice and to have it on record that these people do not keep to their word and simply so not do good business.

This transaction was conducted mostly through emails, which I have all of, and just today through phone.  I have the voicemail saved where they refused to give me the dog.  I know online can make things more difficult, but I have saved EVERYTHING because I wanted to have evidence to back up my statements.

I know exactly what you are talking about with PayPal as a protective measure, but I have had a bad experience with them also:

I sold a puppy to someone who paid online with PayPal.  They came and picked up their puppy, and then went home and filed a complaint with PayPal.  Their puppy was 100% healthy, vet checked, and came with a WRITTEN guarantee.  If they were dissatisfied with their puppy in any way I would have gladly taken the puppy back for a FULL Refund.  Instead they went through PayPal and because I didn't not have a shipping receipt (they picked the puppy up from my home), PayPal gave them back their money.  I had to get the police involved to get the puppy back from them because PayPal failed me.  So, I understand about PayPal being safer than most ways, but they are not always 100% safe either.  I will not accept PayPal for payment unless the card is given in person and I use the PayPal Here device to swipe the card and get their signature on it.  I find it is safer having their signature than anything else.

I agree however if you would have had the buyers since a receipt of delivery (aka method Hand Pickup or Dropoff) you would have been protected. Honestly PayPal sides with the seller 99.9% of the time you just have to document.

I was busted up just a little over a year ago to the tune of 18,000 in fradulent credit card transactions and fees. Lets just say I did not have a very happy Holiday Season last year. It is still ongoing and I've spent a considerable amount getting justice and my money back. Sadly pennies on the dollar.

So I know a lot about it the hard way. I hope none of you ever have to.

File that complaint with the FBI/NWCC and get the process started. It's real and people realize around the time a investigator comes around wanting to "have a talk" that its no longer a game.

Most people do not know this kind of resources are availble.

Why would you accept pay pal if they were picking the puppy up. I guess it dosen't matter if it's pay pal or a visa card people can still get merchandise and renig on the deal and and the CC company returns the money.

It was a weekend after the banks were closed and they ha an ATM limit of $200/day, so I accepted the $200 cash and Paypal for the remaining balance.

We are only hearing one side of the story here. Something tells me there is more to this ..... no comment then until all sides are present
