I fully understand why BHall is frustrated but this was not the shippers fault, believe it or not.

1. petair prices have been the same for a long time, Frankfurt has been always more expensive than Prague: Cost of gas plus time he spends on the road.
2. If the state requires a broker, the customer can find one or petair can provide a really god one that I have been using for a while now.
3. There are differences for a female or a male fees.
4 more dogs he has in his car, more money he makes and that is the SOUL of his business! The volume of dogs he transports is what makes him the money.
5. it is not his fault delta decided to make some changes to their most used aircraft and no longer transport animals.
6. it is the transportation of the dog from Czech to Frankfurt that will jump up the cost by at least $500 bucks if no other changes are maid like the dog chewing up a crate and needing a bigger crate resulting in higher charges for the ticket.
I know this situation was a mess, could have happened to any of us. But to blame the shipper.... I had crap happening to me to because the flight was delayed, then the dog was shipped through all sorts of different places and resulting in extra 400 bucks in cost. Shit happens.

BTW for all that import dogs, many smaller airport are cut off, the dogs will be shipped only to major airport and as it is now Delta is not taking any animals on Boening 767 I believe which is the major aircraft used in the US by Delta. There could be some other options which I believe will be explored in upcoming weeks. Prices of tickets will go up give or take 300-500 bucks  and larger crate will be required. Limiting airports and limiting times.
There you have the news... Bhall's dog was caught in the middle of the changes which blows badly and I trully feel for her as it could happen to one of my clients or myslef.

I still did not get an answer on why only 755 Euro was paid in Franfurt.  That was my whole issue.

Birgit, add the crate plus a vet certificate. He made exactly the sum he admited to 150 bucks or about 130Euro.

755 euro was the cost he was quoted from the airline before most of the crap happened. He did not try to screw you over, he tried to ship the dog and still make at least something for his work. The difference was then added by the airline because of the crate (another crate probably had to be purchased at the airport for premium price) and the difference in shipping. I would say 700 crate about 150 Euro plus the extra shipping with the extra cost since the airline raised the prices. That is my understanding of this whole mess.

You really got screwed by Delta changes rather than petair and the fact your dog needed new, larger crate that resulted in more expenses plus the prices increased by the shipping airline.

I would be furious also if that happened to me. I have no doubts about that.

I am not siding, just trying to be objective..this is all simply a big mess that was caused by the ailine changing the rules.

No, I paid him 23000 CZK =900 Euro.  He said $150 US DOLLARS FOR FUEL NOT EURO! He kept 145 Euro which is a little over $182 I know it is only about $35 US DOLLARS more that he kept but if everyone says....oh it's only $35.... Hey, if it is only $35 send it to me if you can throw it away. It is the principal of the matter.  I am not disputing his effort but why are there so many others that had the same problem but just paid it.  So this is not the first time.

Hello Birgit,

The prices in Frankfurt increased a lot in April. The price from Frankfurt is 990 EUR (about 1250 USD). 28000 CZK is about 1400 USD so I take about 150 USD for delivery. It's 1200 Km drive there and back.

The  price  including  delivery  to Frankfurt is 28000 CZK. The agreed
price  for  shipping  out  of Prague was 23000 CZK. If you agree I can
book  the  flight for Wednesday out of Frankfurt and you would pay the
difference of 5000 CZK (about 250 USD) to Frankfurt office. They would
call you and charge your credit card.

Birgit,
ok a light Sense of humor... did you put the web site you recommended into a search. It made me smile. ;o)

Anyway the good thing is that your dog will be taken care off and your funds refunded. I get tired of bickering. I can see both sides so I am just leaving it at that. I have used petair for a long time and if issues came up, they worked with me.

I hope the next trip for your dog will be more pleasant and faster one with no surprises. Good luck and I mean it (you know that I do).

Now go and put the web site in the search so you can smile with me....www.potshipping.com

LOL@GSDPACK   I don't know about Brigit, but you sure made me laugh!
oh dear. LOL

(This business change in airlines... I wonder if it has to do with preventing terrorists making dog bombs out of shipped pets?)
