Love it! Do you give him a bark and hold command when he sits and barks for the toy? I wonder if that would impact him later on when you are teaching the bark and hold.

I guess I am stuck on Bark and Hold right now! LOL

Hi Vickie

I don't give any commands until the behaviour is reliable, at the moment I am just forming behaviours and will add any commands once the response to body language is reliable enough to not make any wrong associations. I am not actually training him for schutzhund, though what he is learning will be useful if he eventually goes to someone who wants to train him for sport.

His mum is dark sable and his dad is bicolour so I think he will be pretty dark when he's done. One of his brothers has gone to the prison service and I got an email asking for confirmation he was not a Mali x (they only use GSDs) because he looks like a black faced teddy bear

I like to theme the music to the videos if I can, I've got a black stud dog and his video has "Paint it Black" as the soundtrack and the auntie of the pups is called Nyrvana Year of the Cat so she's got Al Stewart. Hoping to get some video of my silver sable Belgian import tomorrow, so I guess it will be time to drag out the Hawkwind CD for Silver Machine.
