Breed organizations - Page 1

I am confused, in Germany it's the SV, what is it in the US, UK & Canada? Are they related, do they recognize each other? For example assuming the equivalent to SV in the US is AKC, can a AKC registered GSD run for shows in Germany and can a male stand at stud for SV registered bitches in Germany?
I hear about German Studs visiting the US and do breedings there !!!
Are there SV branches outside Germany?
What is the relation between FCI on one side and organizations in other countries like the SV and AKC etc?

Here in the USA there are two organizations. http://www.germanshepherddog.com/ http://www.gsdca-wda.org/index/index.html They do most of the stuff regarding the breed and you can check their websites for details
