How soon after eating can you exercise your gsd? I heard that if exercise your dog too soon after eating, that you put them at risk of stomach twist.

I don't feed mine for at least an hour either side of feeding.

I wait at least 2 hours before or after exercising, working or any stressful event. I also limit water while feeding and during heavy exercise. I give a small amount of water after exercising then wait 15 minutes or so before giving any more.

I wait one hour for each cup of food eaten and I never let my GSD eat more than 2.5 cup of food in one sitting.

I do the same as Jim (Slamdunc) does.

I wait an an hour if the dogs are going out for a road walk i..e a meander around the block taying on the lead.

I wait 3 hrs if we're hitting the fields for a full blown run. Have a read below.

I always wait at least 2 hours after eating before exercise takes place.

I've had the misfortune to experience 4 torsions with only 1 being linked to exercise after eating and that was because I was inexperienced and naieve 30 years back.

I wait two hours...I am SO paranoid of bloat, I treat my dog in the same way my mother treated me regarding swimming after eating.  :)  Nobody knows for sure, exactly what causes torsion, but I'm not taking any chances that I don't need to take.
