I'm trying to learn more about my dog Gabi's pedigree.  Can anyone tell me about the bloodlines in her pedigree?  I see titles but am curious as to what the bloodlines say about my dog and her ancestors.  I want to learn and thought this would be a good place to start.  I have posted a link to her pedigree below.

Thank you!

Russell

Hi Russel, your girl is very pretty!! I can't help with the pedigree hopefully some of the more knowledgable members will start commenting.  Wanted to ask what is your girls personality like?

For a start your puppy comes from show bloodlines
In Sieger Show the highest placement is VA1 then VA2 ....
HD is the evaluation of dog Hip Displasya, ED is the evaluation of Elbow Displasya
SCHH is the Shutzhund title the lowest is 1 and highest is 3, I leave the more difficult aspects to others.

Hi Donnerstorm,

Thanks for the response.  Gabi has a great personality.  She is the most loyal, patient, intelligent dog I have ever had the priveledge of sharing my life with.  Granted she is my first german shepherd but so far I am very impressed.  She is VERY energetic and loves to exercise and is great with my two children.  She also will not let me out of her sight.  I can't go anywhere without her right behind me!  She might as well be my shadow!  I saw a picture of your dog.  Great looking dog.  Correct me if I'm wrong but is it from the working lines?  How are they compared to the show lines?  I have read they are not necessary the best pick for a novice.

Russ, yeah Aiescha is the girl in my pic she is a wl, I have several wl.  I wouldn't say they are never a good match for a novice, as long as the novice is willing to train, become informed keep them busy etc they should be fine as long as it is not an extreme dog.  I am not real familiar with the sl gsds, I recently got a female that looks a lot like yours that is 1/2 sl and 1/2 wl.  I have been trying to learn about the sl since I got her because her personality is so sweet, and happy and perky. That's why I was interested in your thread I wanted to see what people had to say about your girls pedigree and the dogs in it.  I have noticed a lot of the sl people don't post a lot on that stuff because it becomes a huge argument between the wl and the sl ppl.  Maybe though they will help anyway.  I'm pretty sure there is room for ppl that love wl, and people that love sl and ppl that love both.
