Hi, im new to this but was after some advise if anyone can help.
My 6 year old white german shepherd bitch Willow, had two cysts removed yesterday, one on her right shoulder and one on her right hip.
I was shocked when i collected her from the vets yesterday as the wounds are bigger than i thought they would be =(
She is crying alot today even after 70mg of carprofen which she only has a four day supply of =(
shes licking at the hip one and both are uncovered so im worried she will rupture the stitches =(
Hate seeing my pup so poorly its heartbreaking any advice on what i should do to help her will be gratefully appreciated
Concerned mummy to Willow xxx

Keep her quiet probably in her crate, take her out on leash so she isn't getting dirt in the wounds, she's going to lick at it just keep an eye on it, if she rips out her stitches call the vet. I've always had better luck with the glue than the stitches on incisions there really isn't anything to pull at. She will be fine, relax.

Usually the wounds are bigger because they have to cut around the growth to make sure they get it all out, if not, it can grow back. Depending on the drugs that she was given for surgery, they can cause excessive whining, especially if Morphine was used. Just like when humans wake up from anesthesia they may cry, laugh, be confused, etc. animals do the same.

Thank you for the replies.
Willow took a turn for the worst last night and reacted to the medication she was on, we were both up all night and at the vets again first thing this morning....
She is now on 100mg tramadol and 500mg Amox as she had elivated temp and horrendous upset belly =(
She has been a different dog since the meds changed and is sleeping contently now and is no longer the anxious dog i saw yesterday.
Luckily she has left her stitches alone and seems to be heading in the right direction today =) thank goodness xx
