My brother badly cut his left hand on a broken bottle, and he continued to handle and train Gina right after having 8 or more Stitches put in the wound, However it has now turned Septic i guess due to rubbing and stretching the Stitches, He would not give it time to heal up saying Gina needed to keep working and training, So now he cannot hold the leash at all in his left hand it has swollen up near twice the size it should be, so now i am taking over Gina and if she responds to me okay then i will continue to train her on in place of my brother and he will take over puppy Hektor, I told him it was unfair on the dog to chop and change as it suits us, but only if she works along with me okay and i will know from the first time training if we are compatable, of course not expected to be foot perfect with her or me but enough to know if it will work between us and i will know if it will work out after the first training session.
So if it starts okay tomorrow when i take her over then if mention her on here it will be as my dog. It does not matter who trains what dog they are owned between us just as long as they do okay in the Sport chosen for them, I think it will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow when we go Training wish me a bit of  luck I may need it

 Steve:

I,m sure she will work fine for you. Tell your brother to take care of the hand and keep it checked and rebandaged regularly. He is on antibiotics i,m sure. Hope it heals quickly.

Good Luck Steve, I'm sure it will go just fine with Gina. Please keep us updated. That's a real bummer about your brother. He must take time to heal, or he will be out of commission longer. Best of luck to the both of you. Take Care    Pete

Good luck with Gina and Hektor...I hope your brother is not being stubborn and refusing to see a doctor!!!  Is he being treated with anti-biotics?  Have they cultured the infection?

Let us know how all goes...

Just an update on my Brothers Hand the stitches were taken out but he had to have a second lot of antibiotics to clear the infection up.
Yesterday he said he wanted to carry on training Gina I said she was doing okay with me but he said he has trained her since a Puppy and he wants to take her on her BH latter this month, So to save any arguments i said okay, This morning he took her on the official training field and they worked well together so thats it.
I think the Dog was happy to be working with him again but it has only been a matter of weeks or so,
So long as the Dog is happy thats all that matters, The Doctor said not to handle a big dog for a month or more after it has healed better but you may as well talk to a brick wall with him at times, He said he can hold the leash between two fingers just enough to keep contact so it is up to him to do what he thinks is best. Problem with us is we were born stubborn and he is no exception
Thanks for the mails on his welfare he needs to wear thick gloves when working on unknown places he said the glass was half buried and his hand went right on the Broken Bottle he never saw it in the Grass
