What are the pro's and con's of Czech lines? Heard their agression is out of control, but not sure if it is an exageration or whether it is really considerably different from that of german lines?

You heard wrong, I have a yard full of them, and wouldn't have any thing else. But saying that I'm sure if you get them from the wrong places you can get unbalanced dogs there as any where else in the world. It's pretty hard to find Czech lines as well as ddr lines that haven't been outcrossed a lot.

I'm not sure that you could sum up all dogs from Czech with the same pro's and con's. You'll find more information if you ask about certain lines and what individual dogs have produced. Figure out what you want in a dog, what type of work if any it will be doing and I;m sure the people here can point you in the right direction.

Good luck.

I've got to say that comment about out of control aggression is way out of line with reality. There are dogs from all lines who can be
like this with the wrong handler, wrong training or genetically. Classifying all Czech dogs in this catagory is unfair very far from the truth.

I just got a huge compliment at training last night about how controled my boy is... he's the light switch kind of dog... one command
turns him on and one command turns him off. He is completely stable out in public and all the kids love giving him attention (he loves
kids :). He is the type that I have no liability fears when taking him in public, yet I know without a doubt in my mind that he will bite
for real on command or if the situation deems it necesary.

melba clone your dog !. Joking aside making sure you have the right dog come with it's correct pedigree can be a task in itself gusmanda so be on the ball if buying in from Czech !. I don't want to paint them all the same but there's been more dodgy ones appearing since the Czech dogs have become a popular fad.

From what I have seen in video of Nero's daughter Ziva, he is passing his temperament on strongly :) Maybe not a clone, but pretty
darn close.

You might want to look up kennels Aritar Bastet and kennel Vikar. Also, check out Art Lipin. They all have some very nice dogs. Good luck!

richram , not sure about art lipin , but both aritar and vikar are bringing in much west blood , so not the right places if you want czech dogs

OK, sounds good. When I'm ready to buy I'll let you guys know what dogs I'm considering ask for your help on evaluating. I've found it very hard to differentiate qualities just by looking at the pedigrees, at least to a novice to myself (novice to pedigree databases, not dogs themselves), since they all seem to have SCHH3or equivalent titles. The breeder offers to choose one for me based on my requirements, but I' always like to do my own calculations rather than just go with what the breeder says (hence I'll be asking for lots of opinions from you guys later ;) . Thanks!!
