I posted this same message on the general message board.  I am the new owner of Schneider Ecki.  The previous owner had her spayed after she was unsuccessful in having a litter.  There was only 2 pups and both died at birth or shortly hereafter.  It is my understanding the first litter is often unsuccessful.  She has a great temperment.  Should I look into reversing the spaying of her, or is that even possible?

Spayed is spayed.   There is no 'reversing it' her reproductive organs have been removed from her body.

Blueeyes, did you really think that you could "reverse" a spay? no

That's hilarious. Made my day. Hey finding her uterus and shoving it back in her is even harder than having the limits removed from the registration.

She will be 8 in 4 days and only has fair hips from OFA. Just enjoy the girl as a great pet for the next 3-5 years. The previous owner did the right thing....

Seriously, it's not like having your tubes tied or having a vasectomy....they actually completely remove the ovaries & the uterus of the dog. Once done, it's DONE! Sorry, if you want a breeding female, you must make sure they are intact, whole females......&, of course, breedworthy!
And maybe learn a bit more about dogs in general before you embark in such an undertaking. People think it's easy & natural....but take it from someone who learned the hard way, puppies are a lot of work, often heartbreaking, & ALWAYS expensive! jackie harris

LOL...good one!  My first thought was that no one who needs to ask this question has any business breeding dogs...then I caught on.

This post makes me really sad.  So many people don't know about dog, breed them and then dogs have bad reputations because of poor breeders.
But in this special case, there is "don't know about dog" and "really don't know about dog".  I think I'm gonna send it to my vet....
We should issue breeding rights to people with strong references, veterinarian studies or dog related studies and training titles.
