from bite to release - Page 1

I just watched this video off a breeder or so that he is  playing with a pup and what good do you think you get out  off pinching the dog to release

to  get the dog more eager to get hold off the toy , like when you chooke them off a bite

we at my club flank our dogs to get them to out it teaches them to out quickly usualy because they want to turn and bite what is going after them is what i was told. i perfer flanking than the chokeing but if you have a relly high drive dog like the mali in our club you kinda have to do both or you will never get the dog to learn out.

Have not seen this here but where I trained with my male when he was young they told me to chooke the dogs off that to gave them that they even more wanted the prey thing, does the pinch do the same ?

i know about malis haha now they are terrorists XD  literaly  i havent noticed a difference in the young female im working eather way i started her on the choke but she would chew on the toy or sleeve before she would out with the flank she instantly drops it.

and ill take that puppy XD

I have never tryed to pich my female to release she will only realese the ball iff I have another ball ,have trained that much but she thinks that all balls or prey are hers to be and that she owns it

What he did to the Pup for it to release was okay nothing wrong really, However i was not impressed by the way he picked the pup up on the end of the tug or whatever he was using and lifted it in the air At 8 weeks old its teeth are not set, baby teeth they may be and very small you do not want to damage those in any way, and i only watched about 3 minutes of it that was enough, Overall not impressed that youngster has been worked on specially to try and impress future buyers so no it is not the way it normally goes and the Puppy is a fair sized Pup at 8 weeks old, I thought my Hektor was a large Puppy now coming up to 9.5 weeks old but he is still not as big as that Pup

That surely is a heafty puppy.  I dont see any faults in the dog.  Steve1 it sounds like you are mainly speaking to the manner inwhich the pup is being imprinted, not the quality of the pup, correct?

Nothing wrong at all with the Puppy, Just i was not impressed by letting the Pup hold on and lifting the pup with its weight on its baby teeth at 8 weeks old. as i said the baby teeth are not yet fully grown and the gums are soft damage the Baby teeth is not at all good at 8 weeks old, however everyone to there own not something i would do with Hektor although he grabs a tug and Ball etc no way would i lift him off the ground with his weight holding onto a tug or ball he would hang on but i think more of the Pups teeth at this stage,
I let him grab and hold it and pull away then drop the toy and get him to carry it around on his own,
Already Hektor sits between my legs i am sitting on a stool he watches my moving hands which with a treat in each hand i move the hands back and forth in a walking motion the Pup sits and watches my hands, The instance his eyes look at my eyes i give him a treat and say Yes, left or right hand makes no difference, He also Sits and Downs on Command, but does not stay down for more than 15-20 seconds but its coming,
As he gets bigger i will sit on a chair and do the same thing and treats will be dropped from my mouth arms still moving back and forth

im curious as of the current state of that puppy , he must be 3 years old now
im not impressed by preybarracudas , as dogs need much more than prey alone to be great dogs
